Hoyas report

Yesterday at Verizon Center

BY THE NUMBERS

25-0 Georgetown’s record under John Thompson III when the Hoyas score at least 68 points in regulation. The Hoyas added two routs to that tally last week, pounding James Madison (89-53) and Oral Roberts (73-58) at home in the team’s most impressive back-to-back performances of the season.

BATTLE OF GREENS

Georgetown’s student section chanted “Our Green’s better,” a reference to Georgetown’s Jeff (15 points, six rebounds) and Oral Roberts’ Caleb (15 points, seven rebounds). At a glance, it might appear the visitor got the better of the battle, but Caleb committed five turnovers (to Jeff’s two) and connected on just five of 15 attempts from the field, while Georgetown’s junior forward finished 7-for-12.

RIVERS RUNS

A week after suffering a severe ankle sprain against Duke, Georgetown freshman guard Jeremiah Rivers was back in uniform. Rivers, who had his right ankle in a thick wrap, did not play, but he is expected to be ready for game action when the Hoyas play Saturday against Winston-Salem State.
