Bogey’s back

Time may go by, but "Casablanca" is forever. Audiences never seem to tire of the Oscar-winning 1942 classic starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, which has become one of the most enduring, beloved and widely quoted films ever made. Tonight, catch the dramatic wartime love story at the AFI Silver Theatre as part of its 1940s Film Noir series. The theater will play it again, Sam, at 4:20 p.m., then later for a two-for-one-priced double feature, with "Casablanca" at 6:30 and "Mildred Pierce" (which earned Joan Crawford an Academy Award for her portrayal of a troubled career woman) following a 20-minute intermission at 8:45. On Thursday, the theater will present another noir double feature: "Out of the Past" and "The Big Sleep" will screen at 6:30 and 8:45 p.m., respectively. Purchase tickets ($9.25 adults, $7.50 seniors, students and AFI members) online at www.afi.com/silver or on-site (8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring). Call 301/495-6700 for more details.
