From musicals like "A Chorus Line" and "The Producers" to movies like "Waiting for Guffman," writers and directors have captivated audiences by revealing what's behind the scenes of the big show -- from within another big show. British playwright Michael Frayn is one of them. His 1982 opus, "Noises Off," is a farcical comedy about a third-rate theater troupe, and it's playing Tuesday through Sunday at Arena Stage until Jan. 28. Tonight, patrons get the unique opportunity to peel back one more layer, when the theater hosts a Salon discussion at 7 p.m. with some of the folks who've made this production happen. Director Jonathan Munby will be among those speaking. The talk is free to subscribers and donors, $3 for the public. Reservations must be made through 202/488-3300. The Arena Stage is at 1101 Sixth Street SW, 202/554-9066. For full show schedule, see www.arenastage.org.
