Hoyas report

Last night at MCI Center:

QUOTABLE

“Roy is starting to play well virtually every night. And I think we’re going to go as far as he takes us.”

— Senior guard Darrel Owens on Georgetown sophomore center Roy Hibbert, who torched Rutgers for a career-high 25 points on 10-for-13 shooting.

BY THE NUMBERS

0 Points in the first half from Georgetown’s senior trio of Owens, Brandon Bowman and Ashanti Cook. Cook picked up two early fouls and sat for the duration of the half. Owens contributed in other ways, recording three rebounds and three assists, and found his shooting touch in the second half. But Bowman, who played his worst game of the season Sunday at Villanova (four points, no rebounds) again was a non-factor, finishing scoreless for the first time all season.

20 Percent shooting from the floor for the 11 players other than Quincy Douby who saw action for Rutgers. Douby finished the game 9-for-20 for 29 points. The rest of the Scarlet Knights finished the game a woeful 5-for-25 from the field.
