DOWN UNDER DEALS

Air New Zealand and Qantas Airways have summer deals to the South Pacific. Air New Zealand is offering flights to Auckland from San Francisco for $974 and from Los Angeles for $914. Travelers can purchase flights to other New Zealand cities such as Wellington, Queenstown, Christchurch, Napier, Dunedin or Nelson for $50 more per flight. Tickets must be purchased by June 15. Additional flights must be booked with original flights from the U.S. Travel through Nov. 20. Go to www.airnewzealand.com.

Qantas is extending its popular Aussie AirPass through Sept. 21. The AirPass is good for the international flight to Sydney, and then travelers can choose three other flights to other locations in Australia. The AirPass starts at $1,299 (a good fare to Sydney alone) from Washington Dulles International Airport. Go to www.australia.com or call 888/505-6252.

ALL ABOUT TUT

Chicago's Field Museum is next up on the "Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" international tour. The exhibit features more than 120 artifacts -- many of which have never before been on display outside Egypt -- that focus on the child pharaoh.

The Sofitel Chicago Water Tower is offering a special Tut-themed package for visitors looking not only for VIP exhibit passes but also for a place to rest after a long day at the museum.

The package includes two VIP tickets to the exhibit, one-night deluxe accommodations, breakfast for two at the hotel, a book on King Tutankhamen, and a special Tut-themed snack. The package is $475 per night, based on double occupancy. Travel is valid through Jan. 1. To reserve the package, see www.sofitel.com or call 312/324-4000.

SUITE DEAL

Stay in a luxury suite at the Venetian in Las Vegas for $129 a night on select nights in summer. The suites usually cost in the $300 range for most nights. The rate is good for select midweek stays through Sept. 24. If you can't get the time off during the week, the same suites are available on the weekend for $199 per night for select weekends through Sept. 22. Go to www.venetian.com or call 866/403-8046.
