Last night at Verizon Center:
BY THE NUMBERS
1,000 Career games for Rich Chvotkin, the voice of the Hoyas. His first game was Nov. 30, 1974. Amazingly, “Radio Rich” wasn’t the senior broadcast man in the building. Chvotkin shared the midcourt bench with Morrie Mannies, who is in his 51st season as the voice of Ball State hoops.
HELPING HANDS
Junior forward Jeff Green moved into the top 20 on Georgetown’s all-time assist list, adding four to reach 222 for his career. He joins Steve Martin (1975-79) in the 20th slot. Former point guard Kevin Braswell holds the school record with 695 career assists.
ROY POLLOI
Center Roy Hibbert was the lone major dubious performer on an otherwise exemplary evening for the Hoyas. The 7-foot-2 Hibbert had nine points and seven rebounds but was a big defensive liability. He was abused almost at will by 6-10 Ball State center Micah Rollin (10 points), a player in just his third season of organized basketball.
