Where’s Tom (Part V)? Today we called in the search party that has explored FedEx Field, Texas Stadium, Reliant Stadium and Giants Stadium the last few weeks for Tom Cruise, who jumped off the Redskins’ bandwagon after their 19-16 Week 1 loss to Minnesota. We have given up hope that Cruise will join owner Dan Snyder for another game this season. In a sports-related Tommy note, Cruise recently was ranked the No. 100 celebrity golfer by Golf Digest.
Have some fans given up? The upper deck wasn’t nearly as full as it should have been for an early October game. The attendance is based on tickets sold, so the usual figure of 90,000-plus was announced. But the actual count and the buzz in the stadium suggest optimism about the Redskins turning things around has disappeared.
Interesting sight outside the south tunnel entrance around 10:30 a.m. Walking in just ahead of cornerback Shawn Springs was Titans coach Jeff Fisher, fresh from a pregame jog around the parking lot.
Boos consistently showered on the Redskins throughout the second half as the winless Titans took the lead with a touchdown and extended the advantage with a safety. Mixed in with the boos were cries for Jason Campbell.
