Dave Reynolds, General Sales Manager of Alexandria Toyota, says that his 11 years at the dealership have been the most fulfilling of his automotive career. He is proud to be working for the owner, Jack Taylor, a well-respected member of the community who opened the dealership in 1973.
Alexandria Toyota/Scion now sits on a spacious facility on Jefferson Davis Highway, where it moved in 2000 from its old site in the Del Ray section of Alexandria. The new 70,000-square-foot facility is situated on 12 acres and employs more than 200 people.
The dealership is part of the community and has been for many years, supporting more than 100 charities. Of particular note, says Mr. Reynolds, is the dealership's support of Capital Hospice. More than $1.2 million has been raised for the center since 1990. Also supported are several local private schools and Alexandria Public Schools. Alexandria Toyota/Scion also contributes to the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria.
Toyota Motor Sales USA has recognized the dealership's atmosphere and successful sales activities, having awarded Alexandria Toyota/Scion its Toyota Touch President's Award every year since 1986. Only seven other dealers in the U.S. can boast such a record.
Mr. Reynolds stresses professional salesmanship at the dealership. All salespeople receive ongoing training from both Toyota Motor Sales USA and the management. Customers are able to explore the inventory on their own, and all salespeople can make pricing decisions.
Service is also an area of importance, and the state-of-the-art service facility can take more than 300 cars a day.
The service lane is climate controlled, and its waiting area offers wireless Internet service and a play area for children.
