SEEN AND HEARD AT RFK STADIUM
Chad Cordero was presented with a surprising gift yesterday: his 2005 Rolaids Relief Man ring.
Yes, it came two years late. The Nationals closer, who at the time received a trophy for being named the National League’s top reliever, had a feeling he was supposed to get the ring, too. He just assumed it was never coming.
“I realized it last year,” he said. “But I just figured I wouldn’t say anything.”
Delayed gifts aren’t anything new, though.
“Last year, I got something from 2004,” Cordero said. “I guess it takes two years for these things to show up.”
OVERHEARD
“It was a serious situation. I pray for his buttocks and his family.”
