Couldn't agree with you more. After all "original sin" was Satan tempting Eve to eat from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, telling her that God didn't want her eating from it because then she would be "just like God". I'm really not surprised though that Obama has shown this level of pride---I think it's pretty presumptuous to run for President after just 143 days of work as a Senator. Most companies have a probationary period longer than that for their employees. His absenteeism and prior history of voting "present" would have gotten him fired before then.

This column about Senator I AM ranks with your best work. Tony, you strive for solidity and reasonableness in your writing, and that sometimes appears to dilute the piquancy of expression that you permit yourself. With this column, the strength and wisdom of your approach has been utterly vindicated. Your long-view perspective is satisfying. Please, please keep it up. Thank you.

Gaffe-A-Rama Obama is an ignoramus.

Mr. Blankley, you have outdone yourself with this excellent op-ed. Your way with words (and Wes Prudens as well) are a gift. That said, Nobama's arrogance and ego know no bounds and I am happy to see so many Americans catching on to this. I only hope that the mainstream media become more responsible and dig into who this man really is, whose behind him (move-on.org) and what he really stands for. Unfortunately, the four moderators selected for the debates cause me some concern. I guess we will have to wait and see.

If you thought the last eight were great vote McCain and get four of the same.

I concur, excellent article Mr Blankley, thank you once again for bringing a new and interesting perspective to this election. And I totally agree. KC, keep repeating your mantra's. That you don't know the long and storied history of McCain bucking the Bush administration (including pressuring Bush to change tactics with the surge), shows just how ignorant you are. Of course that's what I'd expect from someone blindly repeating a refrain like "Yes we can" or "McCain equals four more years." You'll need to do a little better than that to make a case for Obama to be president.

kc, The last eight were not great. But what does the last six months of the embarrasing Clinton Presidency have to do with McCain? I really doubt McCain will start pardoning rich contributors nor will he have to hire a stain removal service to cleanse the Oval Office.

Senator Obama's greatest vulnerability is the decision making process in his leadership skills. He denigrates General Petraeus as intellectually inferior and then emphasizes his dismissing approach to the military by not interrupting his rock star tour in Germany with a visit to those that if elected he may someday have to order into combat and possibly their deaths. This is not a commander in chief, this is someone who tolerates the necessary evil portion of compliance associated with the consensus he pursues and expects them to "do their job". Habeas corpus on the battlefield usually ends up with someones death, these are not law enforcement officers. Many of the Vietnam Vets felt the same response from the spitting patriots of the 60's. You can bet Putin, Medvedev, Ahmadinejad, Chavez and Jintao are analyzing those exposed vulnerabilities.

There is nothing wrong with "professional arrogance", that is the belief that you can do a better job than anyone else. What candidate for any job, would claim in any interview that he was not the best person for the job?

Pride goes before a fall. Many of us know that, even if "he" apparently does not. Perhaps it's the result of his 20 ODD YEARS of spiritual mentoring. Saddest is the fact that today so many young people are unable to see the man for who "he" is. An abomination that causes desolation. Let the reader understand.

The only pomposity here is by author of this article. How else do you expect Senator Obama to come off running for the Presidency? LACKING self-confidence? What is Gen. Patraeus's job? CENTCOM or handling national security for the ENTIRE United States of America? Obama stated it correctly. You guys are clearly out of material.

Tony Blankley is, as usual, spot on. A sharp dresser, a cut-to-the-chase thinker, and un hombre muy simpatico y formal. Bravo!
