Lawyers Like Obama need to take a cue from the GOP on the Energy issue. Lawyers and Environs have ruined this country's energy prospects and made us beholden to overseas oil. Time for more Nuke Plants, time for McCain.

Where have they been hiding? Finally, they are showing courage and leading the way rather than cowering before the misery queen. Take away her throne, crown and all her jewels, her planes and cakes. She is an ego-maniac playing queen and yelling "let them eat cake!!" in harmony with Al Gore.

Personally, I would find the Democratic strategy on this matter funny, cartoonish in fact, if the cost of energy wasn't killing me. Why are people having trouble paying their mortgages and credit cards? Because they are now paying an equal amount every month to fill their gas tanks and pay their utilities bill. Democrats seem to believe that if American people continue to writhe in agony from high energy prices, that we will vote against the incumbent presidential party. They believe we are too stupid to see their obstructionist tactics as long as they stand in their Ivory Towers and proclaim their goal of "Saving the World" and "Preventing further Poisoning" is a lofter goal for which we should all be willing to suffer in order to correct the "evils" of George W Bush. What they don't get is that the American people do not care about them or their party. The American people care about themselves and their families. The American people care about their elected officials doing the peoples business that they have been elected to do. Handing the American people a bunch of holier than thou rhetoric while we see our standard of living erode away does not win our support. We have natural resources that we refuse to exploit because why? A caribou that does not vote, does not pay taxes, is near over population and this caribou's livelihood is more important than mine? The people to Nancy Pelosi, "Madam, we cannot afford to buy groceries because of rising food costs due to your ethanol subsidies and high energy prices. How should we feed our families?" Nancy Pelosi to the American people, "Let them eat cake."

"If Senator McCain is willing to pass a compromise that provides immediate relief to consumers..." Drilling our OWN oil will provide an immediate relief to consumers, as the oil commodities market will drop like a rock. We don't want a nanny government enforcing socialist wealth sharing on us. We want to use our own oil while we continue to work on alternative fuel sources, none of which are ready to replace oil yet. Congress works for us, or at least the Republicans do as evidenced by their presence in DC right now. Who do the Democrats work for?

So Obama is willing to meet with Ahmadinejad "without preconditions" but McCain must endorse Obama's positions up front? Is this guy really an American? What Obama is is a pure Democrat as can be seen from the attitude that it is a "waste" of "The American peoples tax dollars" when the government lets one keep one's own money. Note to Obama - I and a few million other Americans own these oil companies (you can look it up) and "Big Oil's" money is our money. It does not belong to "the American people", only those of us that own stock in those companies (repeat after me Mr. Obama "401k", "IRA", "stock"). Nor does it belong to you or the Government regardless of what you may think. Some of the other posters may be a bit unfair to Nancy Pelosi. I don't believe she ever said "Let them eat cake." I believe what she said is: "Let them inflate."
