SEEN AND HEARD AT REDSKIN PARK

"Thanks, coach." Redskins media relations director Zach Bolno normally speaks those words to announce the end of Jim Zorn's post-practice media session. Tuesday, he relinquished the duties to a new member of the staff - Danielle Zorn.

While his son, Isaac, has helped out during camp as a ball boy, Zorn's daughter - a communications major and lacrosse player at Gordon College in Massachusetts - will work with the media relations staff until school starts again.

QUOTABLE

"No - [Shaun Suisham] is a great kicker that needs to find his rhythm and not beat himself up. He needs to continue to press and go."

- Coach Jim Zorn on whether the team might consider adding another kicker

LONG SHOT OF THE DAY

FB PETE SCHMITT, 6-1, 248, WISCONSIN-WHITEWATER

As a tight end at the Division III power, Schmitt caught 108 passes during his career. He tried to make the Redskins' roster as an undrafted free agent at fullback last season, but the team released him Sept. 2. He returned to help add depth at the position after the Redskins cut linebacker Danny Verdun-Wheeler, but he's the No. 3 player at a position at which the team will keep only two.
