Interesting. Paris Hilton vs. the Hanoi Hilton. Let's compare notes: John McCain - 5 and 1/2 years at the Hanoi Hilton for fighting our nations war, broken left arm and broken ribs, wouldn't leave for early repatriation and is a old "wrinkly white haired guy". Paris Hilton - 45 day sentence for alcohol related reckless driving, a broken finger nail and repatriation after 3 days time served and is blonde haired basking in the sun in a bikini. Definitely a competitive race. I wonder what Paris will look like when she's McCain's age, I'll be she probably won't be able to stand too close to a wall heater.

FINALLY! some of obama's supporters are willing to admit this guy's a flake. FINALLY! 'cant fool all the people all the time. now maybe it will sink to obama just why experience for the presidency is so vital.

I wonder what Paris will look like when she's McCain's age, I'll bet she probably won't be able to stand too close to a wall heater. -------------------- NO SHE WONT!! too much PLASTIC both inside and out - - and even the best surgeon can only re-stitch STITCHED STICHES SO MANY TIMES ...:-) the jailbird didnt have the sense to lay low. who does a political add half naked with highheels on? seems to me if she's appealing to hookers and pimps they have a tendency to sleep during the day when voting goes on... so this is a MISS for her. plus she's nothing but an average face and bag of bones for a body.

This election season could actually turn out to be fun :) When was the last time that happened?

"who does a political add [sic] half naked with highheels on? seems to me if she's appealing to hookers and pimps they have a tendency to sleep during the day when voting goes on..." As much as I hate to admit it, I think I have to agree with bestCandidate- I mean, seriously, if she wanted to appeal to hookers and pimps she should have gone with McCain up to the Buffalo Chip Wh_re Festival and let him talk about entering Paris in the strip show contest along with his wife. Pimping out your trophy wife is what all the cool kids are doing these days anyway, isn't it?

It was a surprise to note that Paris Hilton is not only articulate, but that she may actually possess some intelligence. Those are good requistes for effectual satire and I believe her ad filled that bill nicely. On the other hand, her egocentrism ('I'm hot') and obvious intolerance/disrespect for an older person are sure indications that her jailhouse experience did not produce the maturation of character she has deluded herself into thinking that it has. She may have come 'a long way', as the old commercials used to say, but she still has a long way to go in that department. Bon voyage, Paris.

The Paris Hilton ad was very funny. I am a Republican and a McCain voter, but I thought her response was very clever. So far, she seems to have articulated a plausable solution to the energy crises. She's not so dumb. Obama is a joke and the Media is fawning over him like the Messiah, so McCains ads were right on. He has no experience and has not really articulated an energy policy as detailed as Paris's or McCains. McCain is for increased domestic drilling as I and most Americans are but the long term solution is the developement of alternative solutions. Neither candidate had articulated any plan for the long term. The Paris thing was unexpected, but just plain funny. It makes me think she's not as dumb as she pretends to be.

The funny part is, Paris Hilton has a more realistic and coherent energy policy than Obama.

C'mon people! You don't actually believe that an airheaded bimbo like her actually came up with the ad do you? She's lucky she can spell her name, let alone articulate an intelligent position on key political issues.

There never was anything to Obama. He was singing to the choir during the primaries (and pandering to the far left of the party to sink Hillary). But now that Independents and Republicans are in the mix, he can't stand up to the scrutiny; no longer can he get a free ride from the media in achieving what all politicians strive for: being on both sides of an issue at once.

I think Paris is smart enough to understand the problem. In fact, I think the average American is smart enough to understand the problem and suggest solutions. Obviously Paris had help with her idea and the video, but I'm sure she is smart enough to understand it. The real joke here is that our government/leaders obviously aren't. I remember the gas lines of the 70's. Wasn't it obvious then that oil, being a non renewable energy source and controlled by countries who for the most part don't really like us would eventually be a problem? Duh! We've had 30 years to solve this problem but have really done nothing. We need a JFK/man on the moon like national resolve to do exactly what Paris said, develope our own energy sources while developing alternative fuels. But what do our leaders do? Fail us at every turn. We have an oil problem, making the economic problem caused by greed and stupidity in the financial community even worse. Soon, we will have a Social Security problem, which we have also known about for decades. What do we pay these guys for? While I do support President Bush, I had to laugh last month when he sadi "Hey, we need to drill more in our own country". Where were you 7 1/2 years ago? McCain is the lessor of two evils, as neither the Reps nor the Dem's have attempted any real progress on any of these issues. Is there a real American leader who can actually solve problems?

Tarp

I hate to break it to you lovers of wrinkly white haired dudes, but people are watching this ad to laugh AT it, not WITH it. It's an absolutely absurd political ad.
Mark as offensive

mamarino

Why all the Paris bashing? The girl knows her stuff and she's not stupid. Neither is McCain. She turned what could have been misconstrued as an insult and turned it not only to her advantage, but McCain's as well, while injecting a little intelligent humor into this race. All you jealous fools out there need to lighten up and go take a load off your feet.

RIROSE1

Most Americans have a sense of humor and take these clips at face value. If these spots can lead people to focus on the reaction of candidates that is a good thing. We have one big whiner in the race - big time - gets more and more childish.
