Al Gore and his minions want the public to believe that the solar panels provide the propulsion for the vessel. As the former owner of a 56-foot pillow barge, I can assure you that that is not the fact of the matter. Boats of that size are typically powered by twin 454ci V-8s. The solar panels serve to keep the batteries charged, and nothing more. Gore's assertion that it is so economical that he will need to fill it up only once a year is true because the tank holds 400 gallons +/- and because it is likely to spend most of its time tied to the dock where it will not be consuming 36 gallons per hour as it would if underway. Just typical liberal hypocrisy.
The DNC fails to note that Obama has more campaign contributions from the executives at Exxon than McCain has.
