Regardless of which way the polls went, it brought energy out as an issue and put it in front of the public. Now lets see how the candidates deal with it.
We wouldn't know what to do with a campaign where the candidates had nothing but nice things to say about their opponents. That will have to wait until after the election.
It is hard for one candidate to effectively point out the differences between his positions without showing the folly of the opposing candidate's ideas and positions on policy. In this day and age, any criticism at all would be an "outrage" to the other side.
I expected this campaign to be a brawl, because so much is at stake. Personally, I think the celebrity issue needed to be brought out. B.O. has accomplished so very little as a Senator. So many people like the looks of him, and fail to see how utterly shallow and self-absorbed he is.
I don't know if McCain is the right man for president, but I do know that between McCain and B.O., there is no contest. I fear what will happen to our country should he be elected, unless the Congress is able to keep him in check.
