The world is full of turmoil and danger and the US has a Commander-In-Chief election coming up.
This is no time for an on-the-job-training or affirmative action candidate with 143 days senate experience.
When is Russia goung to change it's name back to the Soviet Union. Senator McCain had it correctly when he said he looked into Putin's eyes and saw KGB. With this unreformed communist thug in charge, they look like they have gone back to their old ways. Bombing civilian apartment buildings killing women and children does not bother them one bit. It will be interesting to see what actions the United Nations takes on this. This is also a wake up call for Americans. With expanding Russian beligerance and China's push for hegemony in Asia, who do you want in charge? A strong leader like Senator McCain or a wimp like Nobama? Duhhhh!
I hope Russia kicks Georgia's ass for this and annexes South Ossetia and Abkhazia so they can be protected from Georgian aggression. The Western news media is choosing the Georgian side eventhough they attacked.
I was listening to CBS and they called the Georgian attack a mere rocket attack but they killed 1600 in the capital of South Ossetia. Where are the Western news cameras for that genocide?
Nothing good.
Russia is only following the example of the United States, invade, do a regime change and occupy for the next one hundred years.
Yep... Only that the United States invades to change a regime in which a corrupt, murderous tyrant was torturing his own people, and destabilizing the region, while your communist buddies invade peaceful nations to satisfy geopolitical ambitions of a bygone era.
Obviously kitess & joaquin have no clue about this situation. One cannot draw any parallels between the Georgia & Iraq situation. Georgia has constantly lived under threat of Russian attack since 1991 and suffered under an ineffective president until 2003. Iraq was monitored and administered by UN mandate because THEY attacked another country. South Ossetia is within internationally recognized Georgia. Go live in Georgia for a few months and then you will understand how they live in fear of attack daily and are constantly persecuted by Russia. Russian troops as peacekeepers? Convenient how Russia "gave" most Ossetians Russian passports after the first war in 1992 to prepare to annex both regions at the most convenient time. Seems that Putin is attempting to complete some unfinished business now that he is no longer president.
