Bravo Republicans! Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic leaders are trying to thwart the will of the American people. She knows that the bill to expand offshore drilling will pass because it is supported by Democrats as well as Republicans. It is a BI-PARTISAN BILL! She is a disgrace and needs to resign, or else get her ASS BACK IN TO CONGRESS AND LET DEMOCRACY DO ITS WORK. She is running the Congress like the old Soviet Politburo. She is a pariah and needs to be beaten in the public square.

How refreshing! Now, Finally! we Republicans are starting to see the guts from Republican politicians that once won us The White House, the Senate and Congress. They are exposing Nancy Pelosi's and the Democrats' hypocrisy. I hope they continue their feisty fight against that hypocrisy and for doing what the American people want, expect and need of them.

Thankfully the Republicans are able to take full advantage of the 'do nothing' Democrats. The Dems list of energy solutions which includes bills to curb speculation in the oil futures market, tax breaks for the development of alternative fuels, and a crackdown on gasoline price gouging is a ridiculous package of stunts to appease the people and a great example of government at its worst. The Republicans figured it out long ago, only initiatives on all fronts stands a chance of solving our energy crisis. Leave no stone unturned. Hooray for those who stayed behind and kept the House open during this crisis.

Hooray - for those who stayed behind and played PURE EMPTY POLITICS. You're falling for it - once again. The Repubs see little hope for winning the next election - so they're pretending to have a clue on our nation's energy crisis. What have they been doing for 7 1/2 years while the totally incompetent Bush & Cheney regime was in power? What did they do when they had both the WH and houses of congress? They pretend to represent you now - because they'll be out of jobs come January 2009. Do you believe drilling offshore is the answer? Why aren't they drilling RIGHT NOW here in Montana? We have oil and the oil and gas companies have lots of mineral rights. They're not drilling here - they're waiting until oil hits $200 a barrel on the international market.

STOP LOSING ELECTIONS AND JUST TELL THE TRUTH Why do Democrats lose elections so often? Why have they allowed George Bush to get away with the disasters he has created? People are very uninformed thus easy to confuse. And the Republicans, especially in recent years, are determined to take advantage and confuse all too many voters in order to win elections. Of course people should follow the events affecting their lives. They should but do not. And the media is often quite irresponsible, emphasizing the trivial and the irrelevant. The media should be more responsible and more caring. It should, but it isn't. If the Democrats really care about this country, its people and thus winning elections, they have to accept this background in which policies and elections are determined and deal with it. People have to be properly informed. This is the task of the Democratic Party and those who agree with it, and this is the task it has failed so badly at for so long a time. If we want to be effective this much change. But there is little sign that it will. Take the fake issue of off-shore drilling for oil. It is well-known that this will not produce oil for years, and even then will have little effect on prices. It is well-known but not to most people. The purpose of the Bush-McCain push for off-shore drilling is to use the increase in gasoline prices as an excuse to help the oil. This is obvious but they are getting away with it. The Democrats are frightened companies that they will lose votes if they do not agree to help the extremely wealthy oil companies. Thus they are beginning to crumble and will eventually give in. And they will still lose. Instead of being terrified why not yell the truth, again and again. Drilling will help only slightly and only after many years. The Bush-McCain position is dishonest and shows that they do not care about most people, just about the wealthy and especially the super-rich oil companies. "Bush and McCain don't care about you; they think you are a bunch of fools that they can take advantage of to help their extremely wealthy friends." They have no ideas about how to help you and don't care. That is a reason they show pictures of actresses to distract your attention from their lack of caring and lack of workable policies. Why not tell the truth and give people the information they need? Why not? But of course the Democrats won't do that. If the Democrats had any sense, which of course they do not, they would emphasize again and again and again, that the Bush-McCain policy is to distract people's attention from their lack of concern and lack of caring by showing actresses rather than ideas. That ad is an example of a big break for the Democrats who will of course not take advantage of it. On to more losses.

mirman I'd rather help Bush's friends than the Democrats' - people like Ahmadinejad, Chavez, al Queda, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. Your comments about oil prices are also chock full of ignorance about commodities markets, you are clearly buying the false premises of 'endangered supply' being promulgated by the Saudis and Iranians. We get most of our oil from Canada, the supply of which is NOT endangered. So why are prices so high? It's a scam to drive up prices. It seems very clear to most - Bush did away with the Executive order banning off shore drilling and prices have dropped by 10% already. Once the Democrats stop pandering to their lefits nutroots environmentalists and lits the moratorium on off shore and ANWR drilling it will drop another 50% within a few months. We clearly need to fund and promote alternative fuels, definitely. Nuclear, hydrogen, etc. - we need a full court press there too. But there is plenty of oil to tide us over, at reasonable prices, until then. Since China and Cuba are already drilling our NA oilfields, we should be as well, yesterday. Way to go Republicans for pointing this out to the do-nothing Democrat-controlled congress and the American people! We might actually see Congress's approval rating back above 20% on this alone.

Nancy Pelosi goes on a book tour while the Republicans try and fix the energy crisis. Since she banned cameras and notes from being taken inside the capital Eugene Delgaudio of Public Advocate USA went to the capital himself and got interviews with the Congressmen. These are better than anything you’re going to find in the main stream media. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQCbrh8pbfE Congressman Lou Gohmert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJX6OApc6As Congresswomen Virginia Foxx

Once again Democrats don't have a clue. Which is it? Drilling more will only lower prices "2 cents per gallon of gas 10 years from now" or oil companies should drill on the "68 million acres" to lower prices? If Democrats are so great at predicting the price of oil 10 years from now why didn't they vote yes on the ANWR bill the Republicans brought up after Bush was elected? (friendlygoldens knows not of what he speaks as the Democrats in the Senate filibustered the bill) Or why did Clinton veto the ANWR bill the Republican Congress passed in '96? But since Democrats are so good at predicting prices ten years out that means they are telling us they knew ten years ago that gasoline would hit $4 a gallon. And yet they just stood by and let it happen! Well they didn't exactly just stand by, they helped their prediction come true. How incredibly mean to the American people can Democrats be? The fact is the ANWR issue has been around for a couple of decades and Americans know it is not the Democrats that have been pushing for drilling there and elsewhere. Now we have proof that they can predict the price ten years out and failed miserably to act on their prescient knowledge. By the way "friendlygoldens" from Montana, have you never heard of Richland county or the Bakkens oil find in your very own state? It's one of the biggest US finds in decades and is making lots of Montanans rich. If not try googling for "montana oil". Read the "Montana oil, gas leases withdrawn over wildlife concerns" too. Ah heck, just in case you fail to read the BillingsGazette, I pulled this for you from Nov 11, 2007: "Montana oil, gas leases withdrawn over wildlife worries BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) Federal officials say dozens of oil and gas leases in Montana will be withdrawn from auction. And the Bureau of Land Management says it will look more closely at the environmental consequences of such development. The announcement follows opposition from conservation groups and state officials who claimed the federal government's pro-energy policies threaten wildlife. A petroleum industry representative Dave Galt says the B-LM's action could complicate the development of resources in the Rocky Mountain West. The B-L-M announced the deferral of lease sales on 73- thousand acres. And the agency says it will consider whether more restrictions are needed. Studies have tied intensive oil and gas development to sharp declines in such species as mule deer and sage grouse." For you Democrats out there that claim Bush&Co. have been doing nothing about energy, that's Bush's "federal government's pro-energy policies" cited by the environmentalists in the article. Democrats really should do a bit of research before posting proclamations.

Russia provides 40% of Europe's Natural Gas, so the European Union can't do a thing about the Russian invasion of Georgia. Are we going to let the Democats in Washington put us at the mercy of the Russians, the Chinese and the Middle East Countries when ever they feel like turning off the spigit.

Nancy Pelosi has proven that she is not competent to lead the House. She is completely ignorning the will of the people and acting as if her opinions are the only ones that count. I am all for Impeachment of this woman who has taken power to the level of dictator.
