The dems must be joking...people who vote prolife do so because they see a baby in the womb and not "products of conception." It's not about money on this issue. All this does is bring up their duplicity all over again.

Tell me what has changed. Politically: They will take your taxpayer money to fund free abortions for all American women (and then some)whether you agree or not. All we need to do is shut our mouths.

I think a woman's decision to have a child is a lot deeper than a visit to an abortion clinic. Pro-life and Pro-choice are moral issues and saying we want to reduce the number of abortions is a physical objective and is not really a government issue unless we are going to start legislating the size of families in the U.S. In a precedence base justice system, the exception becomes the rule. Once you go there, you can't go back. The Democrats have made their choice in backing Roe vs. Wade. Once you have an abortion, you can't take it back.

Any so-called Christian religious group that allies themselves with those who back abortion as a birth-control method and not an emergency medical procedure are not really Christians...Christians of different denominations and beliefs can still agree on respecting individual human life...and backing the killing of unborn babies, sucking their brains out and throwing their lifeless bodies into what amounts to a bucket shows zero regard for human life, period! I am sickened by the Marxist policies of the Democrat party.

As a state senator, Barack Hussein Obama voted for a bill which would allow doctors to take babies surviving abortions and place them on hospital beds to die. Michelle Obama is also on record as saying this is a "legitimate medical procedure." Can you imagine killing a baby lucky enough to survive an abortion? The Obamas are very dangerous people who care only about themselves.

I agree "Pro-life and Pro-choice are moral issues and is not really a government issue". The central issue for all voters is what Barack Hussein Obama has to offer Americans other than he is a nonwhite arrogant male; a naïve and vague politician; has (4) four years experience as a Junior Senator, is an untested confused leader; is supported by an infamous narcissistic reverend and priest; has Ms. Hauser, Messrs. Chafee and Leach support; his picture does not appear on any us currency; and whose wife until recently did not like America. Keep smiling

It seems that Senator Obama is described as having one of the most extreme positions that one can find when it comes to the issue of abortion….Normally, I can understand a lawyer’s dancing on the head of a pin for the sake of not wanting to undermine a future legal argument or position. However, regarding Senator Obama, some other details give me pause and raise questions about whether his stated motivation(s) can be trusted. It's interesting to watch "religious liberals" try to repackage abortion where it's more palatable to values voters. How will they deal with the new revelation that "Barack Obama and his surrogates have been outright lying about Obama's constant votes against the Live-Birth abortion bills when he was in office in the State legislature". What a brilliant strategy by the Democrats. Under the guise of appearing to be more pro-life, they will create even more "healthcare" and social programs to spend hard-earned taxpayer dollars on.

To PeterClarke, What do you MEAN!? Abortion is not a "government issue"! The REASON GOVERNMENTS were instituted in the FIRST place is to guarantee LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS. Governments were formed to PROTECT the WEAK from the STRONG! How can an unborn child pursue Liberty or Happiness when the government refuses to protect their VERY LIVES? This is the MOST BASIC DUTY OF GOVERNMENT -- ONE WHICH THE DAMOCRATS HAVE FAILED MISERABLY! There are over 2 million American couples on waiting lists to adopt children. Last year, because of the U.S. Government's FAILURE - led by the Damocrats - 1 million perfectly good babies were murdered (aborted). How can God bless a nation that murders its young?! And how can so many people be so blind and ignorant?

Sure. And Nancy Pelosi is now saying she can support off-shore drilling. Just more bait-and-switch tactics to help get elected. Don't listen to what they say. Watch what they do. And about all I can see in this platform change is an attempt to expand and/or add more programs for "income support", child care, health care etc. etc. Just what one would expect from the Democrats.

I want to repeat what has already been noted: "Obama is an empty suit with no moral compass." Truer words were never spoken. He will say anything to get a vote --- he's changed on so many issues, including the abortion issue, I've lost count. He's an unprincipled political lout and totally unworthy. I've already said he is going to lose in November. Now, I'm beginning to believe he is going to lose in a land slide. And he should!!

Dems suddenly pro-life? I don't think so!

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
