You want the west to negotiate from a point of weakness. If the west believes in all it says it does then it should be willing to defend it.
If NATO will only allow "safe" members not likely to be attacked by a big power then the alliance is meaningless. Those countries caught between NATO and the big powers have their days numbered before they are consumed.
Also, it is not Georgia's Democracy that needs reform, it is Russia's.
GOD help us if the little boy 'Bama' gets elected, and then tries to tell the paranoid republic 'Russia' to 'be nice'..... Putin will quickly tell him to go sit in the corner, and SHUT UP, and you can bet the kid will obey.......Heck, Putin then might just teach him a lesson by taking over ALL of Europe, not just the former Soviet SLAVE States.
Who's to stop him, and what with?
