I don't have a problem with working with people who see things differently than me, but when it comes to who I would choose to help run my team, I'd want someone who believes like I do. McCain will shoot himself in the foot if he picks a pro choice VP not just for the vote but for his office.

I've been struggling with this election. Once again, do I vote for the lesser of two evils? The best news Conservatives and Republicans could have gotten is that RINO McCain would only serve one term - but to turn it over to Lieberman???? NEVER!!!!! In essence, we would have a Democrat for a president - someone who stands for the Democrat platform except for Iraq and we shouldn't vote for someone based on that one account. McCain keeps making it more difficult every day to vote for him. The decision I have to make is; Do I want this country to go down under a Democrat president or do I want this country to go down under a Republican one. Make no mistake, regardless of which one of these two is elected, the country will go down - but under a Republican president (McCain) it will go down a little big slower which will be even more painful.

Obama goes way too far, so a moderately Pro-choice person might work. It seems that Senator Obama is described as having one of the most extreme positions that one can find when it comes to the issue of abortion….Normally, I can understand a lawyer’s dancing on the head of a pin for the sake of not wanting to undermine a future legal argument or position. However, regarding Senator Obama, some other details give me pause and raise questions about whether his stated motivation(s) can be trusted. Obama Would Evidently Throw The Baby Out With The Bathwater found at: http://zachjonesishome.wordpress.com/2008/08/02/obama-would-evidently-throw-the-baby-out-with-the-bathwater/

If McCain and the Republicans waver on being pro-life, me and my family will have no choice but to vote for independents - or join the growing number of people who just don't vote at all. Please McCain, and Republican leaders, don't go down this path. If you do, you will lose my support forever.

The most basic duty of any government -- the primary reason for government in the first place -- is this: To Protect the Weak and Defenseless from the Strong and Powerful. This idea is even embodied in our Declaration of Independence, to wit: "We hold these truths to be SELF-EVIDENT, that ALL men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men..." I don't know of any person more weak and defenseless than an unborn child. Yet, the Democratic Party deliberately and proudly refuses to see that they are failing to uphold the most basic duty entrusted to them: to Protect the Weak and the Defenseless. This is worse than Hypocrisy -- it is Evil; pure and simple. God made man in His image. Abortion is nothing less than the work of Satan to come against the image of God. Woe to all who join him in this evil work. It's painfully obvious after 35 years of Roe v. Wade that a vote for a Democrat is a vote for abortion. Until they change their party platform on abortion, I can NEVER, in good conscience, vote for one of them -- no matter what else they may stand for. If the Reublicans join them in this sin - I am done with them, as well.

McCain had better listen to his supporters. It would be a terrible mistake to put a pro-choice VP on the ticket.

The Republican Party of the United State is the last and great political party of the West which attempts to restore moral standards and reverse moral decay. Having served and still serving in the campaign trenches beyond the D.C. Beltway, trying to convince fellow Republicans to support McCain, a task that will become impossible if he picks someone like Tom Ridge. The Pro-life plank is the only pillar of enthusiasm left standing under the Republican Party.

I'm a consevative, and also pro-choice. I feel it was unfortunate that the RNC has to stress this plank year in year out. But having to bear this cross, it would be foolish for McCain to propose a pro-choice VP. But what has Mac really shown us?

doctorscott: "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit" says the Lord Almighty. You are right - we on the "right" are yielding less influence on the world. But our influence at the throne of God will never wane. We are simply trying to be obedient to the teachings of our Savior, Jesus - and to warn a godless world of the judgment to come. But, in the end, we know that the world will chose to follow the broad, wide road to destruction. And in the end, He will separate the sheep on the RIGHT, and the goats on the LEFT. And he will say to those on the LEFT, "Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:31-46) On that Day, I hope to see you there with the other true believers, "on the RIGHT". As long as you have breath in this life, there is still time to repent and trust in Jesus. My prayer is that some who read this post will do just that, and be saved from the coming wrath of God. Maranatha!

McCain's statement: “I think it’s a fundamental tenet of our party to be pro-life but that does not mean we exclude people from our party that are pro-choice,” McCain said. He called the gap between the two sides a disagreement - “albeit strong.” Dear Senator McCain, Who are you trying to appease by the above statement. This is why we have two parties and must have a distinct difference between the two. We Evangelical Christians will have no place to go in this Election..... You will lose far more votes than you will ever gain from this action. Please, we beg of you to not make this fatal mistake. Your statement that you said that you would only appoint conservative pro-life and pro-family judges to the Supreme Court is not enough..... God forbid if anything should happen to you in office ...... Then we will be left with a leftie that is pro-abortion and pro-gay. Would you want this to be your legacy ?? We are aware that our Christian Evangelical leaders did not step up to the plate and fight for the millions of us from the onset during the primaries; or it would have been a totally different scenario. But you must know that their vote is only one (1) each...... But we are millions (000,000) who will feel alienated and cast aside ...... Then maybe you can pick up a handful of the Hillary disgruntled voters and a few scraps here and there. NO to: Joe Lieberman NO to: Tom Ridge NO to: Mitt Romney NO to: Any pro-gay or pro-abortion candidate YES to: A pro-life and pro-family candidate My suggestion along with Millions of others (000,000) -- Is if you really want to win: WITH McCAIN/HUCK OBAMA YOU CAN CHUCK !!

As the saying goes, "As safe as a baby in it's mother's womb." Today, it is the most dangerous place for a baby. Sad.

It seems as though John McCain just doesn't "get it" regarding the Evangelical, pro-life base of the Republican Party. If I remember correctly, when the Republicans give us a Presidential candidate in whom the conservatives can believe (and TRUST), we smash the opposing liberal (can you say Ronald Reagan?). When they give us a waffler, or someone who doesn't "get it," we stay home, or at least find it difficult to get motivated. In my opinion, if McCain picks a pro-death running mate, he will destroy any potential that he has for winning the White House.

Bsquare

McCain "gets it." He is sick of the religious extememists that have taken over our party. The GOP used to be a pro-business, fiscally-conservative party that favored limited government. Now the government has to tell us what to do with our bodies, who to marry and what to teach teenagers about sex. And while they are in our face, the party is spending money like water. The GOP is out of control, and I'm seriously considering voting Democrat because they see the bigger issues that are screaming for attention and I think, with a strong staff, Obama will get us out of this economic hole, get government out of our faces, get religion back in the churches and out of government and schools. He recognizes that there are much larger issues at stake.

Bsquare - So, I guess you think "pro-business" and "fiscal conservatism" is bigger than God? Go ahead - build your house on the sand of secular humanism -- we will all see if it will stand against the Storm that is coming. Unless the Lord build the house, the laborers labor in vain. The attitude you convey - "keep God in the churches" (as if that were even possible) - is at the root of everything wrong in this country, and the whole world as well. THINK about it. ... better yet, PRAY about it!

Many years ago, King David asked this question: If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?(Psalms 11:3) This was in response to some of his advisors that were giving him some bad advice. I trust and pray that Sen. McCain will not heed the advice of many who seemingly are advising him that a pro-choice running mate would be acceptable--seems like alot of compromising is happening here.
