The containment policy is not restricted to the GCC. Putin has also moved into the west with one of Iran's allies, Venezuela. He know's Iran will not get nuclear weapon unless he gives it to them, Israel will see to that. When that happens, he also knows the Straits of Hormuz will become the most critical choke point in the world. He also knows the Straits control 15.5 mbd and the Turkish straits control 1.6 mbd for Europe. If he gains control of the BTC pipeline and provides Iran the capability of blocking the Straits, he can leverage 17.1 mbd to Europe and 1.4 mbd to the U.S. as a weapon. Additionally, by supporting Iran's ally, Venezuela, with huge weapons systems, he may be able to build enough confidence with Chavez to cut off 1.1 mbd to the U.S. We need to realize that he is also attempting to proxy containment through energy control and it reaches further than the Middle East. If all his plans come together, when Israel attacks and Putin maintains control of Georgia and the BTC pipeline, Europe will be at risk for about 38 percent of its imported oil requirements and the U.S. 20% imported through the Straits with a potential of 12% more from Venezuela. This should be a wake up call to the EU if they wish to keep their independence from Russian energy intimidation and more importantly to the Congress in their pursuit of an environmental energy program that does NOT produce additional supplies. Putin does not really care about global warming.

Senator McCain hit the nail on the head when he looked into Putin's eyes and saw KGB. Putin would chew Nobama up in a New York minute. Wake up Americans because it is still a dangerous world. Butt kissing diplomacy does not work with thugs like Putin, Chavez, etc. They perceive it as a sign of weakness and will turn up the gain. As Teddy Roosevelt said, "Walk softly and carry a big stick".

Lets see now, we have Russia’ incursion Georgia’ South Ossetia Provence as well as Russian war ships along their Black Sea coast. We have Iran’ continued threats to wipe Israeli off the face of the map. The Israeli air force makes a 1,500 mile fly over of the Mediterranean Sea in June and the US has its strategic oil reserves at 92+ % and is expanding its capacity. This does not give one a warm fuzzy feeling.

All the issues about Russia are spot on! The Evil Empire lives on. Russia wants to control the oil reserves in the middle east ans S. America. It's the best way to bring the USA to it's economic knees. He also has allies in the U.S. congress to ensure we don't drill here at home, most especially in ANWR, because the have laid claim to all artic oil reserves.

Russia has made it's strategy for becoming a resurgent super power very clear to anyone who will open their eyes. Russia intends to dominate the world energy markets and line it's pockets at the same time. Russia is supporting Hugo Chavez and arming Venezuela and will seek to have Venezuela cut-off US oil exports. In the last six months, Hugo Chavez nationalized the oil assets of several US companies following the lead of Russia who has nationalized it's own oil industry and stolen the investment made by western oil companies in Russia. Russia's move in Georgia is an attempt to oust the Georgian government and gain control of the only oil pipeline that Russia does not yet control which supplies western markets from the Caspian Sea. Russia's activity in the Middle East, read Iran, is intended to create a local thug created by Russia to dominate the Middle East and the flow and price of OPEC oil. Russia plans to have a nuclear Iran with limited capability but with significant enough nuclear weapons ability to threaten it's small oil producing neighbors and in return Iran will get the full support of the Russian armed forces. Russia's claim to be protecting Russian citizens will be cover for Russia rolling in to defend Iran from any attack on Iran's nuclear facilities as Russia has thousands of workers at Bushehr and military personnel manning anti-aircraft positions. Russia's latest claim, not taken seriously enough in the west, recently of North Pole territory is yet another very real attempt by Russia to grab oil assets. Russia also has new oil drilling agreements with Libya and other rouge nations. Russia is on an energy blitzkrieg to corner the US and cripple the western economy. It is brilliantly being played and it will succeed unless the US and Europe wake-up. There can be little argument that we should be drilling and drilling now. Russia must not be treated lightly, their threat is real and it is meant to collapse the supremacy of the West/US once and for all. The US intelligent community celebrated way to early when the KGB coup attempt against Gorbechev seemingly failed and the Soviet Union collapsed. However, the KGB didn't die nor was it finished. The KGB turned their loss into a victory and now KGB Putin seeks to complete their operation.

Drill here, drill NOW solves the US oil problem. Cut the foreign aid to russia, iran & any country that threatens free countries around the world. Your taxes are funding the military of these countries. Your taxes are used to murder innocent people. If russia & iran want to be allies let them, but make them pay out of their own pockets for their schemes of world domination. Remember that's why the USSR failed, they ran out of money. These terrorist countries are simply stalling cause they think their buddy bama will be the next president & that communists & radical muslims will be in control of our government. bamabots in supporting the Obamanation you are guilty of the deaths of innocents. Wake up, put the blame where it belongs, on people like yourselves who are supporting the destruction of freedom around the world! Do you really think bama & his communists/radical muslim terrorists will let you stay free if they come to power in this country, & I thought you bamabots pride yourselves about how intelligent you all are?....
