Geesh, the poll must really have been conducted by NBC or CNN in yet another backdoor attempt to get their man in the Oval Office:) Gas prices are high and it hurts, but over 98.5% of oil companies are owned by the middle class! Teachers own 42%! Congress needs to take the blame for high oil prices. With taxes, no drilling, no new good alternatives to oil and dependence on countries that hate us, oil companies aren't the problem! Americans have always lived too high for their paychecks; they use credit cards by choice. They want instant gratification. Now they whine. Economies go thru up & down periods; that's NORMAL. Prepare for those periods and blame yourselves for not being able to get thru those times. We all need RESPONSIBILITY MIRRORS to see who should take much of the blame. Make better choices and CONTROL yourselves. We did; we lived poor and paid off $18,000 in debt. With a $92,000 income, we live in (by choice)a small house for $800 monthly. We drive old cars (by choice) and we budget our money. We BOTH came from dirt poor parents. We worked our way thru college...both undergraduate and masters programs.I did jobs nobody wanted (hanging hotdogs, cleaning bathrooms!) We waited to have kids. We limit our vacations. And due to our CHOICES and HARD WORK, we aren't whining. The glass is half full! Toughen up and if you need help, take Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" course. Check his website for locations near you. It WILL change your outlook on life and your financial situation!!!
Notice how the theme is blame. I am miserable and it has to be someone elses fault. The real estate industry is hated? The real estate industry is about you hiring an agent to help you buy your house. If you get in over your head you carry the blame not the agent, the bank or the seller. You were happy with no drilling and importing oil until you had to pay more to fill your SUV. Now it is everyone elses fault. Socialism is bad for your health and in this case your mental health. Go to the store buy a straw and s . . k it the . . . . up. Life is good, you're doing ok, really.
