Russia's military back in fighting form? I don't think so. Look at the junk they invaded Georgia with. Continuing on with other potential Putin escapades, there is a great deal of difference between Georgia's and Ukraine's military strength. Russia would have a real fight on it's hands with Ukraine. Also, other eastern European countries that despised Soviet rule could decide to help. The Russian troops that invaded Georgia appeared to be very undisciplined. These type of soldiers tend not to fare well when they come up against a more disciplined and resolute force of a more comparable size. We will have to wait and see. Putin's thugs also made noise about attacking Poland. In spite of western European squeamishness, NATO could not and would not ignore this. He is getting close to letting his mouth overload his a-s. The Russian military ain't what it used to be.

Oh...Mr O'Reilly...if only if you could provide a solution. What you state is very obvious but no one has a solution. Neither John McCain or Barack Obama. Our current President has to shoulder much of the blame because he is the one who saw the 'soul in his eyes' and brought Russia in to G7. It was on Bush's watch that Iran got the expertise from Russia to build nuclear plants with the intent of building a nuclear bomb and with the help of Dr Khan from Pakistan. And what has the current administration done about any of the threats that have arisen out of their policies? Nothing !!! Except for words of solidarity with the nations supporting terrorism (Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc.) and some meaningless sanctions against Iran. Excluding Russia from G8 or denying them membership in WTO is not going to make much impact on them. US and the European cannot afford and I don't think want to start WW III. Mr O wants to leave the solution to the problems to the next administration. Yes, John McCain will chase Osama to the gates of hell ONLY when he is the president but for now he is ok with whatever he is doing. It has been 7 years since 9/11 and I don't see McCain near the gates of hell or do I see the poster of Dead or Alive. Russia should be expelled from all international institutions, Europeans should stop buying oil and gas from Russia immediately, US should support the Europeans by exporting Oil and gas to them and produce more by drilling more here. If Russia is hurt financially then they will not be able to modernize their military and the West can cripple their military for a long time to come. I guess there is no leader in the world who is willing to do that. So we are where we are and will be there for a long time to come no matter who the next president will be.
