If Hollywood would start giving out Academy Awards instead of political awards, for movies people like to watch, maybe the L.A. Times hypocrisy wouldn't be so much of an issue. How about letting the people vote for Academy Awards or would that end up like American Idol?

So Jon Voight is an economist too? Wow, how elitist. Is he worried Obama will restore the constitution and presidential accountability? Maybe even hire non-partisans to the Department of Justice based on experience and professionalism? No, Mr. Voight is not at all worried about your rights kids, he just doesn't want to pay taxes, because those funds might feed a homeless veteran, and Voight knows all about soldiers, he played one in the movies.

Mag 7: That's just right. Jon Voight hates veterans, babies and puppies. Good little Obamabot. Voight is a citizen just like you, albeit a kinder, smarter and more open minded one.

Message to Mag7. Jon Voight appears to be a lot smarter than many of the Hollywood intellectually challenged crowd. At least he sees the danger to America from this empty suited chameleon created by moveon.org. If you had read Mr. Voight's op-ed, you would see it is a very well written by someone of obvious intelligence and wisdom. Not your typical Hollywood rant and rave sound bite without any substance.

So there is hope that there are a few people in Hollywood that are still in touch with reality. Mag7, your claim that Obama will restore the constitution is kind of absurd. He and the judges he would appoint to the Supreme Court take the meaning of the Constitution very loosely and open to their own interpretation (ie their own political beliefs). If he were such an advocate for strict adherence to the Constitution, he wouldn't be a typical Democrat trying to expand the Federal Government.

To Mag 7, If elected Obama will do more to destroy the Constitution then anyone did during the 20th Century. He is a far leftist elitist who doesn't believe in democracy or the Constitution, he believes in special laws for special people, and he consideres himself the most special person around.

I think you will find a whole lot more support in Hollywood for conservative ideals than you might think. They are all just terrified of blacklisting if they speak their minds. Nowadays it's the left that is practicing McCarthyism and blacklisting, and taking away people's right to free speech and freedom of assembly. Its the left, the "liberals", the Democrats, who will try to ruin you if you speak out. Be afraid, be very afraid if Obama gets elected.

Wow, tough crowd today. So let me get this right. The constitution as it stands today, in tatters from the Bush/Cheney assault, would be made worse by a big-goverment commie black-listing liberal? And it's okay that Rove and Gonzalas installed a neophite twenty-something, fresh out of law school, to take on the challange of staffing the Department of Justice? Her age and inexperience aside, her criteria for employment revolved only around individual politics? Ah, but it's the LIBERALS who would be blacklisting. And what Obamican could ever replace Cheney and his super top secret agreement for the energy of this country? Wow, I sure hope Exxon makes it, poor fellows. But remember, if Obama becomes president he won't have to follow the law or keep true to signed agreements, because we now have 'signing statements' courtesy of Bushco that says, literally, that the Executive Branch is above the law and no longer answers to the Judicial or Legislative branches. Thomas Jefferson was wrong all this time, and apparently Nixon's crime of firing the prosecuter who was investigating Watergate wasn't a crime at all -Executive Privilge folks. I'm sure Jon Voight is a fine person, and he has every right to support his candidate. But his candidate isn't being swiftboated for his Vietnam service, or having anyone ridicule his $500 loafers, questioning his divorce from his wife to chase skirts, or thinking that anyone worth only 4.8 million is impoverished. McCain reads from scripts as much as anyone -watch him constantly look at the floor, a funny place to put the teleprompter. And what exactly ARE his policies? All he ever talks about is Obama, a never ending slew of attacks, some of them rediculous. i.e. Obama is 'legislating defeat' by establishing an agreed to exodus from Iraq. Isn't that what Condi has been working on this week? Sorry guys but I think McCain is approaching senility whether he knows how many homes he owns or not. I used to have a lot more respect from him and I bought and read his book (most of it) back in 2000. I thought he was a lot more pragmatic back then but now he's nothing but vicious attacks. All of us (except Jon Voight) are going to pay more taxes under McCain. Voight and the over-5mil ilk will pay more under Obama. So if you're really Jon Voight blogging here I'm quite honored to argue with you. But the rest of you better bend over should McCain win.

Mag7. Little if any of your statements below are true. I challenge you to back any of it up excepting conjecture on your part or excerpts from the moveon.org playbook. Your comments on the constitution have me LOL. What do think Nobama, the empty suited puppet would do to the Constitution with his criteria for Supreme Court justices. You appear to be just another President Bush hating left wing liberal. I'm sorry the latest polls are making you so nervous.

okay pfb, here's a few links. How 'bout you sending back some that discredit mine, as opposed to simply crying about them. First up, Monica the Goon Goodling http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/29/washington/29justice.html Not be outdone by dick http://www.nrdc.org/air/energy/taskforce/tfinx.asp or george http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2006/04/30/examples_of_the_presidents_signing_statements/ or McCain's reading skills http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/06/america/mccain.php or his war on brains http://news.aol.com/newsbloggers/2008/08/14/is-mccain-senile/

I sure hope Mag7 gets paid handsomely for this sort of work. Sounds like he got assigned the "Cover and mess with the TWT" beat from the nut-roots assignment handbook. I hope you find it a worthwhile way to spend your time. It doesn't seem like it would be a very rewarding way to spend one's time otherwise.
