Sorry, I just can't get Tien a Min Square and Tibet out of my mind, despite all the pretty buildings, colors, medals. China is a human rights violating monster, and does not deserve any respect.

Hi,tian'anmen is past, tibet is progressing, why not take a fair and subjective look at China? How much do you know to describe a country as monster? You are such a snob and unhappy guy.I bet westerns killed more persons and made more serious mistakes in history, why not say yourself a monster?? I just hope you can stop insulting others, before knowing the whole things.

All this has done, allowing China the Olympics this year, was assist the Communist party and the government in their propaganda. To show the world that communism works and no amount of supposed good will Chinese government showed during the Olympics can erase the fact that this country willingly and ruthlessly suppresses any criticism of its leaders or government. Freedom of the press is a joke in this country. Everyone that has bought the shiny and innocent facade during the 2 weeks of the Olympics are being hoodwinked by the very efficient PR propaganda machine of the government of China. Don't be fooled by all the hard work China's government put forth in beautifying Beijing in time for the hordes of foreigners that would come to view the Olympic events. It was all calculated. They're only showing the world what they want the world to see, and if they can prettify everything for the events, perhaps hoping people will be fooled into thinking China is just a harmless tiger.

skyone,i have to say you know nothing about China and Chinese culture. Western culture concerns a lot of things, inclooding hell and heaven. But chinese have no ideas of hell and religions. In traditional chinese culture,we have a foundamental idea, that is harmony and modesty,so thats why hitler was born in the complicated West, but not cantabile and dolce China! Speaking of this,i have to remind you of the Yapian War and World WarS that bursting in west, which really harms we China and chinese.I hope you can respect us,and allow us and you a nice possiblity. Ps:i have learnt piano and violin and some western cultures,so i'm very familiar with these differences.I dont prefer China and Chinese than westerns, because some chinese hurt me badly, and they have many bad characters, and i also love many western masters and i have many western friends, they are very nice. But,what i wanna say is that,Chinese are, elementally kind, shy and traditional. They wont do that bad things,as you imagined yourself.Maybe thats just a reflection of your enviroment, since you were born there, but as a Chinese,i really cant imagine those horrible things. Its late here,i have to run. have a nice day.

Human rights? Abu Ghraib! Guantanamo! Today 75 civilians in Afghanistan were brutally killed by American bombers..... I wonder why Americans waste a lot of time bashing China. Give them a break. They don't have to conform to your culture to have a good future. They can do it the Chinese way. I'm sure the rest of the world would rather see a country spend this much effort to celebrate peace (the Olympics) than a country spend as much effort to celebrate the demise of humanity (Iraq war). Come down from your moral high ground, please,
