Any Con care to answer the question, "What does the US get out of this war?" Iraq gets a lot out of the war, but suckers like the US get a large bill, lots of dead and an 'ally' who hates Israel and wants us gone sooner rather then later. Good job Bushie. Another f' up to add to your impressive resume of f'ups. What a waste.

We should have just nuked them. We had our chance after 9/11 and blew it. This is what happens when liberals tie your hands when you go out to fight. Should we be surprised the world ignores us? They know we won't actually use our military to it fullest degree and half our country are cowards who want to surrender at the drop of a dime. We have a guy running for president who is a muslim and has set a date for retreat and actually has a serious chance of winning. Why should anyone take us seriously anymore, especially in the middle east?

No U.S. President, Congressman, Justice, Diplomat or other currently in office or being elected to office should agree to prosecution of crimes for out military under anything other than the Constitution of the United States. Anything else would be a betrayal. Those men and women swear to uphold and defend the Constitution, not Sharih law.

It's unbelievable how brainwashed you Cons are. You have a Con white house and a Con controlled Congress and you still blame Dems for not being tough enough. "Dems wouldn't have allowed us to nuke them." Nuke who? Iraq? Why would we nuke Iraq? Not even President Chowderhead would have been dumb enough to nuke a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.

The question Diana West asks "Now, tell me again how U.S. interests are being advanced by propping up the Maliki government?" pretty much says it all. What did we gain from our adventure in Iraq that could justify thousands of dead and wounded, and billions (trillions?)of dollars spent?

War is merely a continuation of politics - Carl von Clausewitz.

Actually, we don't get much. However, if you turn and run, the crazies get more bold. Just look at Beirut, Sudan, etc. etc. you turn and run, you get nothing more than more and bolder attacks. A negotiated withdrawl is a nice hole in the curtain, through which to exit. Then, let them go back to fighting amongst themselves, instead of having a common enemy in us. Believe me, I'm as conservative as they come, but Biden may have had one good idea...break the country in three and let each group control their own little fiefdom. Turkey wouldn't like it, but who cares?

For thousands of years people have been unsuccessfully trying to figure out what makes the Middle East tick. After all, the first US president who had to deal with a mess over there was Thomas Jefferson – remember that old refrain“From the shores of Tripoli”. We’re learning again what Jefferson learned, turn your back on them and all bets are off. Whatever we get or lose will be decided in fullness of time, I don’t know anyone who’s blessed with clairvoyance.
