TBS wild about Perry

TBS already has scored one hit with Tyler Perry, and it's hoping to have another starting early next year.

According to Zap2it.com, the cable network has ordered 10 episodes of a comedy based on Mr. Perry's play and movie "Meet the Browns." The show, which Mr. Perry will executive produce and direct, is scheduled to premiere in January, joining his current hit sitcom, "House of Payne," on the TBS schedule.

Olympics rule

For the week of Aug. 18 through 24, the top five shows, their networks and viewerships were: 1) Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony, NBC, 27.8 million; 2) Summer Olympics Tuesday, NBC, 26.6 million; 3) "Summer Olympics Monday," NBC, 26.3 million; 4) Summer Olympics Wednesday, NBC, 24.76 million; and 5) Summer Olympics Thursday, NBC, 22.4 million
