If Pelosi represents the best leadership that the Democrats have to offer in the House, then it doesn't bode well for their leadership in the Executive branch, either. She reminds me more of a cheerleader than a leader of a nation. On further reflection, Harry Reid isn't any better. If Obama is elected, it will be "strike three" for our government.

i wish she would just stay on vacation then maybe the congress can get something done.

Pelosi can have whatever view she wants to have on abortion. But to lie about the churches stance and teachings is just wrong. Even for a liberal with with no compassion for anyhing but her own power.

"Catholic attack dogs on another Catholic that is entitled to equal views of her faith." Pelosi can have whatever views on abortion she wishes. She has NO authority, however, to speak for the Catholic church, or to strive to confuse the issue for other Catholics. She was WRONG, and she doesn't have the moral courage to admit it. I expected no less of her.

MG: Your extremist comments comparing us to the Taliban is just outlandish. It's amazing how liberals think that Freedom of Speech and Passionate Activism is okay when it comes from their mouths -- but "terrorism" when it comes from us. Gimme a break.

Contrary to popular opinion, there really is no infallible teaching in the Catholic Church regarding abortion.

MG: You should take some of your own advice. You sound just as "Judgmental" as anyone here!

Pelosi is like every other Democrat. She will say any word and take any stand and compromise every principle for a lousy vote. She definitely needs to stay away from talking about religion because she obviously know little about it. Unfortunately, you cannot exclude religion from the public discourse. It's human nature and perfectly legal, I might add.

MG: Actually, I am not "Catholic" - although I was raised as one. I don't think God will ask me what denomination I belong to when I stand before His throne. I think He will ask me, "Did you follow my Son?" -- and even more importantly, "Does HE know YOU?" (Matthew 7:21-23 -- http://tinyurl.com/567l6y)

MG is flat out wrong. People can have whatever say they want to influence legislation regarding abortion. That includes pushing for and passing laws that reflect one's views. In fact it is MG that has a Taliban point of view. If you don't agree with MG then your point of view is simply out of bounds if MG believes you might hold that point of view because of your religion (and for all I know even if it is not based on religion). The same goes for marriage. If Liberals want to overthrow marriage as we know it, which they try to accomplish via passing laws or redefining age old laws via the Courts, then those that have to live under those laws can enter the arena of politics and push for or against the legislation based on their views. It does not matter if those views are arrived at by way of religion or just plain common sense. Many times there is little or no difference between the two (except to a Liberal that many times has neither religious reasons nor common sense for what they try to push). MG seems to make the mistake that one can only oppose abortion and redefining marriage because one is religious. I abhor both and I am not religious. Now as far as I can tell it was not the GOP members that brought this up. It was Nancy Pelosi. Apparently a Liberal legislator is allowed to talk religion but as usual any dissent by a GOP legislator is disallowed. In this case the dissent is not even tied to any legislation so MG seems to be huffing and puffing for no reason.

GG

If Pelosi "thinks" she is a Catholic, she should make an effort to get her facts straight, because religion is not the House where she is supposed to lead....instead of using her position.

MG: That's the ROOT OF THE PROBLEM! YOU CANNOT DEFINE LIFE OUTSIDE OF GOD! HE IS THE AUTHOR AND CREATOR OF LIFE! That is what I -- and all of my faithful Catholic brothers and sisters are trying to say. And WHY WE ARE SO APPALLED AT ITS DESTRUCTION! Lord -- Open his eyes!!!

MG: Man CANNOT define God. HE IS THAT HE IS. It is the depth of folly for the created to define the Creator.
