Can somebody tell me what the US Coast Guard is doing sending its vessels to Asian Georgia?
Did they get lost and think they were in Savannah?
The mission of the Coast Guard is to protect our borders. Does C. Rice think that our continental borders now extend throughout the Black Sea?
I ask again, what is the Coast Guard doing in the Black Sea?
The Coast Guard spokesman said it is a "routine procedure."
Huh?
The Coast Guard is supposed to protect US citizens againsts the threats of:
1)Illegal immigration
2)Terrorists trying to sneak into the US
3)Drug smugglers, so our children don't wind up as drug addicts (they should be Prozac, Ritalin and other legal drug addicts).
Since the US government is doing such a sterling job of halting illegal immigration, and preventing huge increases in the costs of our health care, educational and criminal justice systems because of the pressures brought on them by illegal immigrants, I should have realized that it is wiser to send the Coast Guard on a Black Sea vacation rather than to deploy them along our own borders.
It seems that our leaders could not care less about illegal immigration and will do with "their" tax dollars as they please.
Whoever ordered this Coast Guard ship as a "guard" to the Tomahawk-cruise-missile laden warships sent as a show of force to shore up Mad Mikhail Shaakashvili (oops, I meant sent as an escort to deliver humanitartian aid (bottles of water)) should be either:
1) Fired or impeached.
2) Indicted for theft/misuse of government resources.
From the US Coast Guard Website mission statement:
The U.S. Coast Guard's mission is to protect the public, the environment, and U.S. economic interests — in the nation's ports and waterways, along the coast, on international waters, or in any maritime region as required to support national security.
