During the Clinton Administration, globalization began splitting world economies into regions. China, the Americas, Europe, Russia & Central Asia and the Arab Gulf States. With this came multilateralism from the dominant economic power then, the U.S. The deteriation of NATO began with the dysfunctionality of how the multilateralism was handled by the U.S. through the U.N. There was global consensus but when it came to compliance, regional interests and exceptions dominated. China took advantage of this and the EU consolidated but without a constitution. Since then an unknown variable has come into play, energy. The U.S. and the Europeans squandered their independence into imported energy without contingencies. Russia has observed this and is now using this new weapon to weaken the bonds of NATO through energy intimidation. With the contol of the BTC pipeline and provoking Israel to attack Iran so as to threaten the Straits of Hormuz, it may have the leverage and window of opportunity to deteriorate the bonds of NATO, if not sever them. Frances peace agreement with Russia in Georgia left some suspicious and serious loopholes allowing Russia to remain in the Georgia, not that NATO or the U.N. could do anything about it.
Warmongering pansy VDH should sign up and go off to war.
But he's in good right.
Krauthammer, Frum, Limbaugh, Malkin, et al, will not go off to war.
But they'll "support" it from the comfort of their dens and airport lounges.
