Steve: This paragraph from your column should tell you all you need to know about Barack Obama: "Mr. Obama did pander to the left's phobia about globalization by villainizing the North American Free Trade Agreement. But as soon as he had the nomination locked up, he confessed to Fortune magazine that his NAFTA rhetoric had been 'overheated and amplified.'" He will say whatever he needs to say to win. What does he personally believe, and what policies will he support if he becomes President? Who will he put in his cabinet, and what policies will they pursue? Who knows? But when he had his first real opportunity to show us what he really stood for, he picked Joe Biden--hardly a centrist liberal or champion of change. We don't really know how liberal Barack Obama is, because he hasn't revealed his true convictions yet. I know that I don't want to find out after he gets in the White House, that's for sure.

He hasn't revealed anything about himself. He hasn't revealed his actual name Barry Soetoro, which is on his birth certificate, or that he was a citizen of Indonesia, possibly held dual citizenship, or possibly renounced his US Citizenship. He also was a Muslim and he has repeatedly denied this, but it is on his birth certificate and in his school records. What about his business partners Tony Rezko and Bill Ayers with whom he served on the Annenberg board handling over $150 million in grant monies that no one seems to be able to locate. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

All this conservative talk about small gov't vs big gov't is childish at best. The gov't grew enormously under Reagan and Bush. The belief if only we could have enough conservatives in office we could shrink the size of gov't is a fantasy. It would the first time in history a gov't has willingly downsized itself and gave up power. It isn't going to happen, not ever. So lets skip this nonsense and move on.

Obama's policies are tax and spend. He is part and partial the far left with all the poverty programs where hard working americans are keeping up the lazies of this country. We need to scale down all programs that pay women to have babies and keep them on welfare. it is outrageous. I see it all the time in the housing market and nothing is done. Obama leans more to socialism than capitalization. The Bible says that those who don't work, should not eat. We should adopt that. Obama's assocations with known radicals is scary. I am voting for McCain, and it looks like Bill Clinton will tell anything to get his party in power. I will never listen to him again either. He has lost a lot of support after his speech at the convention. he is a proverbial liar; Obama is not ready to be president with his lack of leadership in changing corrupution in Chicago and his absences from the Senate for the last two and one half years. We don't need a on the Job learner for president.

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
