MURDOCK: Bipolar Bailout Disorder 12/1/08
I think Mr. Murdock sums up the situation beautifully. And his summation is is a fitting epitaph for the George W. Bush administration and the current Democratic Congress.
This whole bailout business is group insanity. We're effectively borrowing trillions of dollars from the next generation of Americans to spare us an economic bump in the road. Unfortunately for them, they don't get to vote so they're the easiest ones for business hustlers and pandering politicians to pillage.
Where is our federal government going to get the resources to pay for all of this money our government is borrowing? How do we now know that this money that we're taking from future Americans right now for these bailouts isn't going to be desperately needed for some much more serious economic or military crisis 15-25 years from now? We don't know that, and, much more troubling, no one who matters really seems to care.
Meanwhile Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac go merrily about their business. Democrats profit politically from Barney's roll of the dice as the same Americans that got rolled happily vote those that conned them complete control of the government.
