JONAOBAMA!!!!!! OR IS IT OBAMAJONAH?

Hopefully, Metropolitan Jonah will work to inspire the Standing Conference of Orthodox Bishops in the Americas (SCOBA)to coordinate Orthodox Christians spiritual and educational ministries nationally, regionally and locally to bring the message of Orthodoxy, uniformly, to North America. P.S. No offense to the Pres. Elect, but no analogy to him here. Orthodoxy is a Faith of Traditionalism.

Obama? well, I know a lot of people voted for him, but of course, the only thing Met. Jonah has in common with the president-elect is that he is very well received. There is much to be done in the Orthdoox Church in America, all jurisdictions, to bring the message of the resurrected Christ to a world in terrible need of His healing. Met. Jonah has experience in doing this that I think we have not seen in the Church in America for a while. Just a thought, though I may be reading it out of context: Orthodox Christianity is not a faith of Traditionalism, it is the Church established by Christ Himself and His apostles. Only by the grace of God, certainly not by the virtue of its people, has it remained true to the teachings of these early times. That's not meant as an attack against other Christian confessions, but it is simply an accurate historical claim. I would think that we need to get away from the idea that Orthodoxy is "traditionalist" because then it makes it seem like our ritual is what matters. It's not. But, Metropolitan Jonah's election is one very big marker towards turning the attention of the Church's people back to the Gospel, and not to some idea regarding strict adherence to rules that are perhaps, more exotic or something. It's all about Christ, and how to become like Him. God bless! Seraphim

Sick of hearing the Obama moment being used here. and to all Orthodox Christians who voted for Obama you should be ashamed! That means you are Pro-Death not Pro-Life-And thank you Frankie Schaeffer-for telling all too vote for him! All we want as a bishop is an honest one-
