MOWBRAY: Who Elected Barack Obama? Conservative voters became a key bloc 12/2/08 Mr. Mowbray appears to be saying that Sen. Obama won because the public was rejecting the unbelievably-bad performances of recent Republican Congresses and the now-ending administration of President Bush: the public did not want more of the same under Sen. McCain. The public did NOT vote in Sen. Obama to attain socialism for socialism's sake. In the wake of the recent elections, however, some of the Washington Times' editorial staff and regular op-ed contributors have been advising in these pages that the Republican party now try to regain control of the government by out-Democrating the Democrats, while continuing to ignore their party's conservative core. I hope that those staffers and contributors will give Mr. Mowbray's views the close attention that they deserve.

Conservative voters became a key bloc for BHO -- based on my acquaintances, sad but true. Re "Who elected Barack Obama?" - My question re the primaries was "Who voted for McCain?" PS - Most BHO voters DID NOT EVEN KNOW THAT THE DEMS CONTROLLED CONGRESS post- 2006.

Most of these people that you are talking about didn't really vote for Obama they voted against McCain. And the liberal illuminati didn't really care as long as they were getting the votes. makes sense i suppose.

This article is BS; a total drummed up fabrication! 88% of Conservative Evangelicals voted for McCain. This was 10 points higher then Bush in 04. The rest of the conservatives like myself held true to the GOP and would NEVER have voted Obama. Conservatives did not take Obama over the top. The increase in the AA and Hispanic vote did. This article is a LIE

Amazing. Simply amazing. "Security moms" and Catholics put Obama over the top? Security moms voted for a guy who stated right out that he wants to cut defense spending, and to have unconditional talks with a mad dictator who is very close to acquiring nuclear weapons? And Catholics voted for a guy who emphatically stated that he hoped the very first piece of legislation for him to sign as President would be the absurdly misnamed "Freedom of Choice Act," which would FORCE Catholic doctors and hospitals to perform abortions? In what alternative universe does this make sense? Pinch me, someone, I think I must be in the Twilight Zone.
