Parties unite to wrest power in Canada

Prime Minister Harper should be dancing with glee: the depression into which we are globally sliding will see whoever is in power throughout these next few years thoroughly slaughtered in the next election. Here is his brilliant opportunity to destroy all three opposition parties. BUT: it seems that no one, including Mr. Harper, is aware of how devastating this slide in the economy is going to be. Although I understand the Parliamentary system that Canada uses, this is precisely the type of thing that we are able to avoid with a major 2 party system in the United States. Even with Clinton getting impeached, he could not be ousted b/c the Senate would not convict. President Bush was unpopular, but it would have been exceedingly difficult for Pelosi and Reid to push for impeachment/conviction of a sitting president, and expect to hold onto any power in their Congress. www.offeringcommonsense.blogspot.com
