Finally the likes of Jack Abramoff will not disgrace the visitors log at the White House.

No, instead we'll have guys like George Soros who likely took full advantage of the flimsy campaign finance laws of this country. $2300 per candidate? Oh please! All one has to do to buy the presidency is to buy cash Mastercard and Visa cards at their local grocery stores in amounts of no more than $200 a whack. Next break out the telephone book and make ten or twenty thousand $200 contributions over the Internet in any name you desire, making sure not use obvious names like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The cash cards are totally untraceable and campaigns don't have to disclose any contributions for $200 or less.

Seems like some great ideas. Anything to boost the emphasis of science and math with children would be great.

The concept on the face of it, of course, is very fine.It is not new. Many Presidents invited artists, and these concerts should be recorded, packaged, and distributed for public access and consumption. The public has, already. paid for it. Laura Bush tried to have celebrations of writers for the public, but the writers tried to abuse and undermine her purpose and intent. Thus, she had to do so in a less public way. In the Obamas'case, the doubt enters on what the "culture" has designated as musicians, artists, scientists, and poets, and what are HIS definitions for each art form.He is not known for his familiarity with the arts.Rahm Emanuel did train as a ballet dancer and was with The Jeffery Ballet, reportedly.Possibly, he has, or knows, higher standards. Hip-Hop and Gangsta Rap are not music, nor poetry. They represent the decline of a great art form. R&B is music, but not exemplary. Will Arab-Islamist "musicians and lyric writers", much of which is anti_American and anti_Israel, be invited? Many of the socalled poets, today, are not poets and write merely political rants and garbage. It isn't as though past great poets, such as Milton and Dante, didn't bring up, or reference, their era's political and religious protests. Today, of course, we are not blessed with comparably great poets and prose writers. How politically loaded will those invited be? Will those elevated to a celebrated position because of the color of their skin be favored? Who is to determine the standards? It seems they are completely lost. Will "artists" who produce installations of garbage and dung be considered "artists" and featured? Which scientists are to be invited? Will they be those promoting ersatz-science to push this environmentalism and "global warming"? Scholars in these various areas should, also, lecture to afford context,at the very least, since the children and other audiences will not receive otherwise. I hope, American talent is featured, at least, a good deal of the time, yet, there are some exceptional artists in Europe and Israel, Russia, and in Latin and South America it would be a shame not to invite. There is much that can be done, but only in the right way, on the highest levels. There are individuals who would be very advantageous to organize and make these exceptional events.

With the White House being a high security area, in the midst of a war on terrorism, extremist wanting to exterminate Americans, this is a dumb idea. A total nightmare for not only White House Security, but for the Secret Service as well. Obama better smarten up and realize he is not just a Senator any longer, but will be the leader of the free world and always a chance of assination. His wife needs to smarten up also. They both need to get their heads and minds in the right place. How soon we forget 9/11 and the brave souls who kept the White House safe by taking over the aircraft from the terrorists.
