I thought he had all the answers. Obama said that everything Bush did was wrong and taking the country in the wrong direction. Now he's worried about continuity from those he said were wrong and ruining America? He just wants to pick there brains for what to do and then take credit for their efforts after they are gone.

Obama has no experience at anything other than community organizing and neither does Clinton's croonies. Therefore he needs someone with experience and that would be Bush's people. He can not fault Bush for his own possible missteps after taking office so he needs to be able to point to people left over from the Bush administration. That way he can remain untouchable, much like he did concerning his connection with Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, ACORN, and every other left wing, American hating group or people.

People make the most ridiculous claims when it comes to OBAMA. That’s all I have been hearing from the nay sayers. Everyone knows that a president must have people working for him. There is a proper time to remove folks. If you think that Bush and Cheney were the main problem with American government in the past 8 years, then you will be happy to see they are leaving. There is no reason to put blame on un biased professionals who actually do their job well. Colin Powell made a huge mistake as well, after serving his country well. His big mistake was relying ob Bush and Cheney to have their information correct. Unfortunately he found out the presidents information and Cheney’s information were boldly incorrect. This is the first time I have ever seen so many folk judging the incoming president so harshly, before he has been able to make one order! But I can understand it, because people are ready for change now, do to the last 8 horrible years!

It sounds like there's rational thinking at work here - good for Gates, Obama and us.

So much for Obama wanting to change things. If asked, I would politely decline and leave when President Bush leaves. Obama said he knew how to do things better and claimed Bush's policies were wrong...so why would he need the help of Bush's people NOW??? Let Obama put his own people in there who obviously know how to do things better.

Let's face it. Obama wasn't the first politician to make campaign claims and promises to win votes, and guess what? He won't be the last. I find some relief that he's keeping key figures of the Bush war team in tact because it wouldn't be expedient to shift gears in the middle of a conflict. Obama ran and won on domestic issues, so he's going to let the experts take care of what they know best. I didn't vote for Obama, but come January 20th he will be my President, and I'm not going to be like all the deranged anti-Bush tools in the nation who put their politics before their country.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! These are that same criminals that ought to be on trial before The Hague for their war crimes! What is Barack thinking? This isn't the change we voted for.

Think strategy and legislation, since those who are there know what is going on already and those who may be changed need congress approval that takes time. He is keeping who is necessary for the transition and will change in time once he is elected. He still has to approve the strategy for the war. It would be a mistake to clean up house now and have no idea on how everything runs and where all the secret rooms are located. They are not playing chess we have a war going on.

The tough kids, Bush and Cheney, have kept the bullies away from the playground. Did Obama leave the Bush team there for political reason or continuity of effective prosecution of the war? Who will be to blame if the war escalates in Afghanistan and Iraq? Obama or Gates?

management 101 it's the boss not the worker who sets the policy! duh and he's letting go the ideal logs. he did tell us he was going to do things different well this is different and I like it!!!!!

Quote "This is the first time I have ever seen so many folk judging the incoming president so harshly" Vic Bennett How quickly you forget. What happened in 2000, and for 8 years after? Even today the hatred from the left is amazing to watch.

Face it, folks! You got lied to about "change"....obama ISN'T going to give you any change except what little will be left in your pocket after he finishes robbing you with his tax increases..... I'm wondering how he must feel now that the blinders are coming off of the eyes of the fools who voted for him....I think they may actually SEE him for what he is.....a FRAUD!!!

Jammies, Some of us weren't fooled...and we are laughing at the incredulous looks those who did get fooled by Obama have on their faces right now. Unfortunately, this is more of graveyard humor since it spells misery for this country for the next 4 years.

The change Barack promised? At least BO is learning quickly that the winning team should stay together to finish the war and beat the enemy. The demo"rats" voted this Chicago machine politician into office and now have to live with all his duplicity!
Mark as offensive

chiefpayne

Thinkerray, And take responsibility for it if it fails. So for them NOT to fail they have to depend on the very people they have been complaining about. If I were on the team, I'd say no thanks and let them sink or swim on their own!
