FredHosea

Correct, we haven't been attacked by terrorists since 9/11. We also haven't been attacked by sinister green men from Mars, or by Satanic demons with pointy teeth. Does Bush want to claim credit for these non-existent attacks as well? Truth is, we *were* attacked on 9/11 thanks directly to Bush's failed intelligence and slackjawed national security unpreparedness. The absence of any followup attacks suggests that Bush's over-estimation of terrorism after 9/11 is probably as ignorantly off-target as was his under-estimation pre-9/11. The terror threat can now be seen as a highly profitable propagandistic myth popularized by fear-mongers and war profiteers. The unsubstantiable prevention of terror can never serve as a justification for savaging the Consitution, our civil rights, or the human rights of other nations. The Bush administration is crawling with war criminals, liars, torturers, and death-dealing war profiteers - all of whom have been assisted by criminally complicit and morally bereft Democrats. They should all be investigated by a Special Counsel and held accountable to standards higher than the junk-yard brute morality that Kondracke espouses.

To FredHosea: Simply a perfect idea. Actually a great idea! I absolutely love it! But let us include all war criminals and human rights violators and just flush them down the drain once and for all. Start with all the slave holders such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson. Don't forget all the Presidents and their administrations that fought wars, either as generals, in office or just standing around. The list include Abe Lincoln, who caused the greatest slaughter of American in history; Franklin Roosevelt, who was part of the greatest killing war in history of mankind to date; and Harry Truman who killed the most people with one bomb in history. We'll eventually get to the lessor criminals, like the Bushes and finally, those criminally complicit which includes Jimmy Carter, and William Clinton. We'll provisionally add Barack Hussein Obama but then that's just a wild guess like yours but we must be thorough. I agree W did commit many crimes including, for example, searching for all those missing W's from their computers. If you still have them maybe you can return them. Anonymously? We promise not to tell. After the first few dozen, then we can persecute Mr. Obama's administration since they seem to be preparing to do the same as the Bush administration even keeping all those war criminals around. (oh, and I did mean "persecute") Why would anyone want to protect your rear end? Go figure.

To dynodick I agree. 100%. Can you ship the nukes to Iran on your way out to the cemetery? I'd rather die warm than freezing (call me a contra - contra Al Gore that is)

I wonder if Nick Berg would be so concerned over the discomfort of terrorists? It took over 30 seconds for his shrieks to stop, and death to mercifully take him. I am not too upset when brutal murderers have a little water splashed on their naked faces. These people (and I use the term loosely) are NOT entitled to the rights granted in the Constitution; we the people of the United States of America -- citizens -- are granted those rights, not enemy combatants. FredHosea is an idiot: little green men have not been shown to be plotting our destruction, and your demon friends work through suckers like you, who think appeasement will bring peace. Boy, are you in for a shock!

Third world dictators have had a habit of holding mock trials of their preceeding rulers usually ending in executions. As much as the loony left would like their barbarian leader B H Obama to follow this course don't forget "payback's a b***h". They got Nixon, we got Clinton, they got Bork, we got some of theirs. You get Bush, we will get Obama when we get power back in just a few years.

Only enemies of this country could be calling for such a idiot action. Just because someone says something does not mean it is true. It is all hate and politics. I would suggest those who make some of the comments here could be foreign agents trying to pit Americans against each other. Either that or they just don't know what else to do with their "mouth" but utter the wretched rot in their dark heads.

The country needs the truth. No amount of obfuscation, pious claims that it was done for our safety, or fear mongering that we might need to torture someone in the near future to keep us from a nuclear terror attack can hide the fact that we haven't been told the truth. We are strong enough to survive the truth. No matter how painfull or embaressing we will fail as a country if we allow the truth to become secondary to our fear. Mr. Kondracke is wrong and nothing on God's earth will ever make the idea that the truth is obsolete to safety right.

kc: How do you know we are strong enough to survive the truth? The reason fear mongering works is because there is actually something to fear. Ideally, I agree with you. However, this world we live in is far from ideal. It is very easy to sit in our comfortable homes and tell the people in the intelligence community how they should be going about their jobs, as they are not able to defend themselves. We should be thanking them, not prosecuting them.
