If you like the classic song of “Puff, the Magic Dragon” and his adventures, this book would be great for you.

“Puff, the Magic Dragon” was written by Peter Yarrow and Lenny Lipton. It’s the first time the story has appeared in picture-book form. I think the greatest thing about this book is that I really feel that I’m in the land of Honalee with Jackie Paper as he visits Puff, the Magic Dragon. The pictures are really colorful and awesome.

Also, when you touch the cover illustrations, there’s texture, so everything feels just a bit more real. The body of the dragon really looks shiny and hard. The book comes in a cloth bag.

Plus, I was able to get the book with a CD that has the song about Puff and his adventures with princesses and kings in the land of Honalee, and other music too. I like hearing most about the sea and the boat that Jackie Paper travels in — which can be found in the book as well. The pictures of the deep seas and fantastic boat are drawn very nicely by the illustrator, Eric Puybaret.

I also like the CD because not only does it have Mr. Yarrow, but it also has his daughter Bethany, who sings too. There is also music by a cellist, Rufus Cappadocia, which is pretty nice because I think classical music can be boring sometimes. But everyone at my house likes the songs, especially the one about Puff because Puff has been around for a long time and almost everyone knows about him, like my dad.

So I think this book is great for kids, and the entire family can enjoy it too. It’s a nice book and CD to look at and listen to together with everyone.
