The author claims "the press never quite took him seriously".
On the contrary, the press took him very seriously as a threat to the status quo, which is why they marginalized him and NEVER discussed him in any of the post debate coverage.
They effectively rendered Dr Paul invisible to the vast majority of people who only saw the short clips of the debates featured on the nightly news; Paul was never shown in any of them, even when he was garnering more primary votes than Giuliani and Thompson.
Most egregious of all was the debate sponsored by so-called "conservative" Fox News, which rebroadcast the entire debate in prime time, yet completely EDITED OUT out the most dynamically conservative statement made in any debate so far by the most conservative candidate on the stage. Shameful.
And how much coverage did the conservative Washington Times give the only real conservative candidate?
