We are suffering the same though. Taxation without representation, 21st century style. The Congress has done nothing but blame for eight years. What significant legislation on major issues have they passed that has helped the country? Immigration? They attempted to force feed the nation a social feel good program for more votes. Energy? Even the President jumped on this one. Biofuels? It shifted a stable food production market in equilibrium to an energy market and out of equilibrium, because of a consensus derived state of fear global warming scenario (really a global governance initiative) which created a state of fear starvation scenario, which increased the price of not just oil but food and threatened to starve countries that relied on a stable market for both oil and food. How about the war in Iraq. Regardless of who started it, as nation, we are in it. The Democrats wanted a Black Hawk Down ending. If we hadn't had a competent and intelligent military, it would have ended that way. All the Congress could get passed was 'make your point initiatives' and tell General Petraeus he has a willingness of disbelief. I don't think this is fair representation for our taxes. Either the Congress begins passing real legislation or we develop a Reality party and vote them out of office. Whatever happens, it our choice. Rule the government or let them rule us.
What if we have lost faith in a goverment that seems hell bent on destroying not only ours but our childrens future?
