The U.N. is a bureaucratic resolution mill. They constantly seek consensus and funding. This is a result of the political and economic environments that have emerged since the end of World War II making the U.N. model an administrative global chess board for the big five. This dysfunctional multilateralism as John Van Oudenaren calls it, makes up the ineffective part of the U.N. model. If there is no interest from the enforcers then there is no action toward the resolution. Devotion to sovereignty of nation states is a politically correct legal excuse maneuver. Compliance is a matter of the regional power and their global interests. Compliance or the image of it is what makes the U.N. ineffective and a bureaucratic proxy. We are investing our money and hopes in a facade of of paper shufflers.
WHY ARE WE WASTING OUR TIME AND MONEY SUPPORTING THIS DISFUNCTIONAL DEBATING
SOCIETY ? THEY SHOULD SHUT DOWN THE NEW YORK SITE AND LET THEM MOVE TO THE OLD LEAGUE OF NATIONS BUILDING IN
SWITZERLAND.
