What planet are Reed and Pelosi residing on? All the people have to do is go online and research back to 1996. They will clearly see that the Democrats and a handful of squeamish RINOs have created this energy mess. The public should be outraged and reflect it at the polls. The true facts are absolutely not getting the media attention they deserve. Sunlight is always the best disinfectant. WHERE IS IT? My fondest wish is for the Democrats to continue blocking more drilling and they will pay dearly for it in November.

Back in the 2000 Election Bush wanted to drill ANWR, the experts also said is would take 8 to 10 years to start seeing the results....hum now that it is 8 yrs later we could really be using that oil. The socialist liberals blocked it then, they are more responsible for this energy mess. It seems funny that the Republicans are searching for answers and the Demoncats only want to place blame and point fingers. Fact is they do not want to fix the problem. They want this mess to keep going, so when they get control of the White House they can use the issue as an excuse to turn the oil industry over to government control. Welcome to the first stages of communism. Those is power do nothing to stop major problems so when those issues get too far out of control they can step right in and take over.

Here is a simple idea to find out where the Senate and House stands on this crisis of their own creation (we know where three quarters of the American people stand). Let's put forth a simple yes or no question to each member of Congress. "Are you in favor of drilling for more oil in areas now blocked such as the gulf and ANWR-yes or no"? None of this spin and obsfucation crap such as "the oil companies already have millions of acres leased, etc. would be allowed. A simple yes or no period! With the Democrat's propensity to never answer a straight yes or no question, this should be quite amusing. The whole process would be televised on CSPAN and it would be clear to the public where their so-called representatives stood on the issue. Everyone could then take appropriate steps in November.

will

Thanks to the liberal Democrats & their extremist environmental beliefs, it will be another 30 yrs for this country to become energy-competitive again. By then the global economy will have left us in the dust.

Our energy crisis is not the fault of the Democrats or the Republicans ... it's the result of our combined complacency and acceptance of an ineffective energy policy (non-diversified and oil-focused). I feel the pinch in the pocketbook just as much as the next guy, but I'm willing to keep paying out that extra money until we can find a responsible and long-lasting fix. And that fix just doesn't seem to be opening up our shorelines to drilling. No one likes it, but this the situation that we, as a collective nation, have gotten ourselves into.
