Your comment about Sen. Pete Domenici shows ignorance about his disease. It may be progressive, but there are some good medications that help with the symptoms. I have the disease and everyone says that I seem like my old self. If he is in the same situation I am, he may not have any trouble serving out his term. FTD is progressive as all dementias are, even Alzheimer's. The symptoms vary greatly and it's a catch-all phrase for a number of specific diseases. If he's using FTD to define it, he's probably in the early stage and it hasn't been more precisely diagnosed yet. It's a rare disease, but maybe not as rare as some may think since the internet is allowing more people to be aware of it and learn about it.
