Great, just what we need! Another "needs based" solution for stealing more money from financially conservative citizens who have had a long range plan for their life. I have saved 20% of my income every year for the past 20 years while most taxpayers spend everything they have on houses, cars, and toys they want, but do not need. So they get their "entitlements", but since I have a relatively nice retirement account, I get robbed. What happened to America, where you get to keep what you have earned instead of our government comrades playing Robin Hood?

And we want these guys to manage national healthcare?

Agree there is easily identified problems but not with the suggested solutions. In solution (1), while some people could work until 68 many others could not based on health and type of work they do. Increasing the retirement age is doing nothing more than taxing a person longer and hoping they die before they collect. In solution (2), Robin Hood was a thief plain and simple. Our government already does enough of that. Anyone that is forced to pay into Social Security more than earned their returns. Solution (3) has merit. But it needs to be done at a young age and should not be used to "shore up" Social security. It should replace it.

STOP lumping Social Security in with Medicare and Medicaid. Social Security can be fixed relatively easily. A nip here and a tuck there will fix that problem. Working Americans all paid in to SS and deserve their benefits. Medicare and Medicaid are different programs. They should be treated separately and fixed accordingly. As far as Bill Gates not colleting his SS benefits fine but how many billionaires are there? Simply denying the wealthiest one percent will not fix SS problems. And by the way Bill Gates did not pay any more into SS than I did so please don't put me in the same category as him. Finally low income workers already get a better return in benefits than upper income so please don't suggest any more income redistribution here. We never hear conservatives suggest we have to "reform" our debt payments to the Communist Chinese or other foreign investors of our debt so why put American workers at that back of the line.

How about this for saving s.s take the cap off of ss.You don't have to raise the retirement age then!I am 64 plus years old been driving tractor trailer for 43 years do you really want to see me driving down a highway near you at the age of 68.I think not.Should i fail my d.o.t. physical where do i go to burger king and flip burgers? We are not all white collar workers. There is a lot of blue collar workers such as rofers, carpenders highway constuction workers ect.Think you can do these jobs at age 66-67-68? Try it, see how long you last.

Ed Feulner doesn't seem to be aware that the Social Security retirement program would be in great shape if Congress hadn't used the SS Trust Fund as a make-a-wish slush fund for the last 40 years. What's worse is that we the sheeple have continued to reelect these crooks year after year, in the face of all kinds of warnings. We've eaten all the seed corn and now we and our children will reap what we have sown--for all you bilingual people--NADA.
