Not sure who Jarmin is but I really don't like putting paraphrases or in other words phrases in quotes. If John McCain would have ment to say what Jarmin quoted, John McCain would have said it. Regardless of Maliki's evaluation of the readiness of Iraqi forces to take over, it would be naive and stupid to make a statement with regard to that readiness, without consulting General Petraeus.
I could be wrong soxconn but doesn't Iraq belong to the Iraqis? And if they want us out of Iraq it makes no difference what Gen. Petraeus thinks? We shouldn't have done this in the first place. We've made the best we can out of horrible mistake. The Iraqis will tell us how gratfull the are to us for their freedom but they will never be our ally. We share no common history or culture. We are utter foreigners to Iraqis. Even though our actions have made millions refugees we don't want them as refugees in our country. Iraq is rife with as virulant a form of anti-semitism as pervades Iran and most other Muslim dominant nations. We have nothing in common. We should leave. Some victory. huh?
