This is a very disturbing article. We lock up Border Patrol agents for doing their job and then don't go after someone who kills an agent. Double speakers like Mr Carr should not be collecting his pay from my taxes. The Attorney Generals office in San Diego should be replaced along with Mukasey.

What's the reason the US didn't extradite him earlier, and why do we still have borger agents in prison? Keep it up, and no one will want to become a border agent!

Our federal government and politicians are useless in protecting us! President Bush is doing nothing when it comes to open borders and catching illegal aliens. Why, so he can destroy the U.S. thus it will be easier to implement his North American Union and to complete what his daddy wants, NEW WORLD ORDER. Go to YouTube and watch Lou Dobbs The NEW WORLD ORDER. Illegal immigration has cost Americans’ trillions of dollars since the beginning of this mess. The federal government studies everything except the cost of illegal immigration. Why? Our federal debt is over $56 trillion dollars. Go to Truth in 2008 and watch our politicians spend our kids and grandkids money. Why is there no discussion on how far we are now in debt by our politicians running for office, especially president?

Incompetence Strikes Again! Frankly, I really doubt if the Bush people are really serious about illegal drugs, border control or illegal immigration. ICE ordered some Ohio police officers to release illegals who were coming to my home town, Manassas, VA. Thanks George!

Wow, someone really dropped the ball on this one, but I suspect that person responsible will still have the same job and receive a hefty bonus this year. Good Job sir. I hope the wifes new BMW was well worth your effort this year.

The bash Bush crowd is at it again. Blame America first and give the Mexicans a free ride. Wake-up, the Mexican Gov. is out to protect their own turf. As corrupt as the Mexican police, military and judiciary has proven to be, how people can be so quick to blame our agents is beyond me.

I am a republican, have always been a republican and will die a republican, but I am appalled at what has happened during this present administration. Immediately upon Montes' arrest the Justice Department should have made his extradiction to stand trial in this country a top priority, and I simply can not comprehend why this wasn't done. These illegal aliens, or cockroaches as I call them, are crawling all over this country, and they seem to have more rights than I and my fellow Americans. All of them, including their so-called "anchor babies," should be rounded up and marched across the border at gunpoint.

Dansan 22 I do not blame America first and believe that Mexico is a totally corrupt country. However the Bush administration that I voted for twice is pandering to illegal aliens and to the Mexican government and does its best to interfere with the work of our border patrol to the point that I wonder how they can get any recruits. Aside from not completing the fence as promised there are just too many points to even list. It would be nice for a start if you read up on the 2 Border patrol agents ( Compean and Ramos ) who are in jail for twelve years because they shot a drug smuggler.

by Georgia I am a So. Calif resident and I am ashamed of my country. I believe the Bush Administration is ignoring the border situation as it has the past 6 years. This is proven by the 2 border guards STILL in jail because of a corrupt trial. Homeland security does not want to waste it time on the situation in San Diego. U.S. Border Guards are expendable, use, abuse and discarded. This make a very difficult situation for recruits, and leave our country and California very vernable to drugs, rapes, murder and most obvious the GANGS in our communities.
