Obama has the liberal arrogance to believe that he can lie his way into a claimed centrist position until he wins, and that the MSM will cover for him. They will cover for him..but the MSM no longer is the only source of news, and he cannot back out of all of his anti-American views on Iraq or oil production.

A man who believes in everything believes in nothing. That's Obama.

To "love234america", Obama believes in a lot, that is for sure, it's just a matter of figuring out what that is exactly that he believes in. To "steve007", you have got to be kidding me. Obama is "anti-american"? The one man who is asking for people to believe in themselves and our country instead of buying whatever lie is currently being shopped around for convenience? Seriously, educate yourself on the matter of national politics over the past 50 years before speaking further and spouting your (apparently FAR right winged) rhetoric. Don't even get me started on your quip about "Liberal arrogance"...

McCain likely has the better chance with the average voter because his tax plan seems to take less money out of peoples pockets. Most of the other points about Obama & McCain's policies are so close none of it represents change. Many of my liberal friends point to the Supreme Court as a reason to support Obama, but after his recent "re-calibrations" this week it seems unlikely he would appoint anyone with any real spine to their convections. Obama is just a noodle blowing in the wind, he will point in the direction he feels represents the most votes up for grabs. His actions since his victory over Hillary may very well turn out to be the most short sighted political missteps in presidential politics in this new century. He certainly has lost my support. As an independent I worked and contributed countless hours and much hard earned cash only to see it evaporate with his "political calculus". (Read FISA, faith based initatatives, Iraq, Afganstain, and his loss of a sense of humor.) The guy has turned out to be a real drip. At this point I do not intend to vote for either of the major candidates. What a lost opportunity for the Democrats.

Senator Obama has no idea of what a foreign policy should be that involves using the military as part of that policy. Like the rest of the Democrats in Congress, he does know blame and that is what he has been doing for the past 4 years. Now that he may be accountable for his statements, he is pursuing something that is working. The problem here being, without believing in what is working, it will fail because of a lack of support driving it. Yes, our soldiers will still perform as they did before, but like any other team, they will need a leader who believes in them. Obama does not, or he would have spoke out against the slanderous statements of Kennedy, Murtha, Durbin and MoveOn. His flip flopping is simply a matter of convenience, compartmentalization you might say of the Iraq issue. Turn it over to General Petraeus and move on to social issues.

"The one man who is asking for people to believe in themselves and our country instead of buying whatever lie is currently being shopped around for convenience?" You my friend are the one that must be kidding, as the lies Obama is shopping around are the only ones I see loud and clear. One only need read the article above to see 5 big ones enumerated right before your obviously closed eyes. So please close your mouth until you open your eyes, as your candidate is flopping in the wind just like one of his so called "favorite" songs on his IPOD(my a**) from one of his favorite songwriters Bob Dylan(my a** again,as he's only a favorite 'cause the worn out rocker half endorsed him, and he thinks that choice will get him some white bread votes for being 'cool' not), Bro Bama is "just blowing in the wind". (this article below in Rolling Stone is just filled with Obama politically expedient BS for more gullible whites out there who waste their money on RS Mag trying to be hip willing to buy his crock full of crapola): http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/06/25/barack-obama-the-stevie-wonder-geek-returns-to-the-cover-of-rolling-stone/

Obamas' only consistancy so far is his inflated sense of self-worth.

Obama is completely unprepared and unreliable on foreign policy. He just announced his new policy on Iraq... BEFORE even visiting to see the situation on the ground! That makes no sense at all. Furthermore, a year ago, he called the McCain surge a "complete failure" while our troops were still fighting and dying... and, now, we find that he was WRONG. He's unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.

To J242, you say Obama is not anti-American? Well that depends on what you might consider as American my friend. I consider Capitolism to be American. I do not consider Socialism to be American. How many years did we spend battling the effects of the Cold War? For what? Only to have the battle re-surface in our own house? This guy, in my opinion is dangerous to the future of this nation as we know it. Perhaps we can become the Un-United States of America under his lack of leadership. But then the way he flip-flops on issues, perhaps Flipper will forget everything he stands for by November.

By: J242 To "steve007", you have got to be kidding me. Obama is "anti-american"? You need to learn to read with more comprehension(say, you aren't a unionized public school teacher, are you?) I referenced his incontrovertible "anti-American VIEWS on Iraq or oil production". That's not the same thing as you stated. But how else would you decribe a policy of surrender and anti-economic growth, leading to a clearly diminished America in both areas?

I propose that the use of flip-flopping, MSM, and activist judges be banned. All it really does is make commentary look like kindergarten arguments. Thanks.

steve007, Who exactly would any American President surrender to in Iraq? The duly-elected Iraqi government? In the current state, Malaki has asked the U.S. for a timeline for withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country. Even if Bush continued as President what would be the next move? Is is surrender if we support the decisions of the Iraqi President?
