Pelosi is out in the ozone. The absolute arrogance of these Democrats should outrage the American public (and they are getting to that pont). Pelosi may feel safe in her own district but she is going to take down a lot of her fellow House Democrats with her complete lack of good judgment and common sense. She has aligned with the Greens against the best interests of her own House members, not to mention the country. HELLO, IS ANYONE LISTENING?
I think you hit the nail on the head. One area not mentioned is the tourist industry in America. I would think they would be enraged as high fuel prices discourage people from taking vacations. More domestic energy production both on and off shore can come on line quickly with new drilling techniques and a streamlined permitting process. This issue will indeed take down many Democrats in Nov. How can you possibly vote for someone that tells you they will oppose more energy production? If prices are high now, who knows what the future will hold without any more supply? Also if we have electric cars in the future, where will the electricity come from to charge them up? But then again Pelosi and her hacks are prety much against nuclear also. Maybe instead of learning to speak French as Obama wants, we should learn from their nuclear power success as McCain would do.
If increasing supply by drilling would have no affect on oil prices, why did the oil market react in real time yesterday while the President was speaking when we saw the largest drop in prices in a single day in the last 30 years?
And they have continued dropping today. But I predict that if Congress appears to be ignoring the pressure that is building, prices will go right back up.
So keep your eyes on Sept. 30. If Congress passes yet another moritorium on drilling and prices increase we might conclude that Democrats have not managed to bypass the laws of supply and demand no matter how much they proclaim supply has nothing to do with prices when it comes to oil.
Saying that that some oil from ANWR or offshore may be exported or it wont lower gas prices is a very stupid reason for not drilling there! Take an class in economics. If we export a million barrels from ANWR and import a million barrels from somewhere else, it costs us nothing. If we import a million barrels and export none it costs us 140 million dollars! Research and development of alternative energy sources is great and we should do that, but as long as we are useing more oil than we are producing we need to drill as much as possible. If we end up with more oil than we need we can sell it to China to pay for all our imported lead painted toys!
Democrats say drilling would not help because we wont get the oil for 10 years, a great argument they have been making for a decade - jay Leno
