It's more than the "wow" factor. There is less innocence, less character, less integrity and less ideals, less depth, just more action. Why else did Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings do so well? People want to know is that there is some benefit in doing what is right over doing what it takes. In the past we used to get it from movies, today it just doesn't seem to matter. The first generation to experience it was the returning Vets from the Vietnam War and the spitting patriots that greeted them.
